Simple Equations Practice
Here are some different kinds of equations to practice.  You may want to
do some calculations in rough on paper to help you get the right answers
.

Linear Equations
Solve the following equations:

  1)   2a + 20 = 5a + 5 a =

  2)   3 - 2t = 15 - 7t + 8 t =

  3)   5(a - 2) = 4(a - 1) a =

  4)   7(2e + 3) = 3(4e + 9) e =

  5)   1 + 3m + 5 = m + 18 - 4m m =

Simultaneous Equations
Solve the following pairs of simultaneous equations
by substitution, graphically or by elimination:

  6)   3a - b = 18 a =
      2a + b = 7 b =

  7)   3s - 4t = 25 s =
      s + 2t = 5 t =

  8)   2x + 3y = 23 x =
      x - y = 4 y =

  9)   a + b = 1 a =
      b = a - 5 b =

  10)   b = -2a + 1 b =
      b = 3a - 4 a =

Changing the Subject of the Formula
Make x the subject of the formula in the following equations:
Please don't leave any spaces in your answer or it won't register —
you need to write m+b not m + b for the game to work properly.

  11)   x - t = m x =

  12)   kx = c - d x =

  13)   a(x - b) = c x =
