As a mum who is trying to read a book about the dangers of amalgum dental fillings and the effects of mercury toxicity but who did no science subjects when at school (a long time ago!), I asked my son for a book that would help me to understand the chemistry type blurb in this book. He gave me CGP and it is great!!! I am now going to get all of them from key stage one upwards!! Thanks so very much.

Mrs Carter — Bowdon , UK — 29 Jun 2002 at 16:57:00

I think Cgp books are the best and if you need help on your school work take it from me you need CGP. P.S Keep up the good work CGP.

Laura Braidwood — , UK — 27 Jun 2002 at 22:36:00

Why can't u make a straight forward higher tier revision science book instead of loads of different books presented in different orders. Oh yeah and you've made books for every subject under the sun except for the ones i'm taking such as sociology.

leanne — , UK — 27 Jun 2002 at 21:03:00

i find your books really interesting as well as informative. Doing my GCSEs i need a book that can help me revise in an entertaining way. CGP has done that. Well done!! However if you could do revision sites on the internet for last minute revision then that would be great. it is nice to look at other material apart from books. Well Done anyhow!!! Rashmi

Ali — London , UK — 21 Jun 2002 at 18:01:00

Victoria — redcar, cleveland , UK — 21 Jun 2002 at 16:59:00

This site is really good and as im going to be taking my GCSE's in a year it has been useful as i'm definately going to invest in some of these books!! Emma xxx

Emma Allen — , UK — 21 Jun 2002 at 14:02:00

Helena — , UK — 20 Jun 2002 at 11:37:00

I really liked your books and it interesting to read it and it really helpful. thanks Ben

Ben Colhoun — Garston, Watford , UK — 20 Jun 2002 at 10:41:00

I think your books are great and make revision much better with the jokes and trying to make them funny! Make me giggle anyway! lol I think you should do a revision guide for GNVQ as well because I am taking GNVQ Health and Social Care as a GCSE option as many people are, and would find a revision guide very useful! Thank you Danielle x

Danielle — Buckingham , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 21:12:00

in ALL of your revision guides you say that candidates have to revise over a long period of time and not try to cram it all in. i have revised solidly for my ict exam this friday and now i have found out CGP have brought out a revision guide, this may have come in useful a while back but how do you expect students to revise over a long period of time when your guide came out 1 week ago and the exam is friday please get back to me angry gces candidate

A hutchings — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 20:48:00

I think your site and books are great. I would like to see some Geography books though, from year 4 onwards, this would be brill. Keep up the good work, love the little characters and funny comments.

Alexander Corbett — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 20:47:00

david prince — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 20:38:00

hiya pepz i think the cgp books r gr8 but u cld u plz plz plz plz but some revision help on ere plz as im studying 4 my gcse and i need to know bout maintance of life i find the other books do not help me but these 1 do they are fab!

i am very pleased wiv your books but could you tell more about mantence of life pleas thankyou

louise smith — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 18:31:00

I think that it would be very good if your revision books had holes in them so that we could put them in folders, because in my biology set almost everyone brings their revision books to school, as we have to have folders it would be very helpfull, even if it was only the funny stapels with loops in them. Apart from this the books are gr8. I hope you add this entry to the guest book because you didnt enter the last one, byeeeee!

pip — derbyshire , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 18:26:00

very interesting website it helped me to get some revision!

rebecca — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 18:07:00

this was a good site, but more ks3 revision please

lauren — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 16:30:00

I would like to make a few comments about the CGP Mathematics Coursework book. I was disappointed, vexed no ENRAGED to read such unbelievably naive comments such as "put the names of any computer programs, spreadsheets and model kits you use in your plain in the write-up" or "I used dots to represent the tennis balls to make them quick and simple to draw". There are a plethora of these inconceivably kindergartenish comments.

Gary Ri — , Hong Kong — 19 Jun 2002 at 15:46:00

my ICT teacher is old fashioned and doesnt approve of some of the jokes in the GCSE ICT CGP Revision Guide, eg "Hugh Grant has a 3 1/2 floppy....(fringe)..." i thought it was he didnt he's one of those short sleeved typical IBM types

Nick — , UK — 19 Jun 2002 at 00:13:00

I was wondering if you did any practice spanish higher level role play papers for i find these hard to do and would really appreciate a book to help me practice my role plays. Also i agree with some else's comments on the fact that there is no economics revision guides for i as many people i know do take economics as a GCSE option but i have had to buy a business studies containing not all of the correct information for my economics revision. Plz make both the books i have requested-they wud b so helpful. Thnx and btw the rest of the bks r gr8!!! and v. useful!! Lv Jo :)

Joanne — Beeston, Nottingham , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 23:26:00

i really like these cgp books and i think you should make german/french revision books. The cgp books helped me get an 5+ in my ks2 thank you so much

Nehir — , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 22:03:00

I think your site is so cool. Other books are so boring, but yours are easy and colourful - I can understand them much better! I buy Maths revision Guides, and Science workbooks - because I am not good at Science! Thanks for all the help! Maisie - Kate xxx

Maisie - Kate — England , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 19:27:00

I like the practice online pages, but some are needed for KS3 and desperately. Year 9 is not the only stressful year!

Michaela Mare — , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 19:06:00

Was upset, that you have increased the price for private orders. Have to find another company.

Fairhurst Irina — Westhoughton , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 19:01:00

Hi, Im doing triple science at school and purchased the early modules book through the school and my friends and I totally lived by the books. However - we were shocked to find out that you do not produce a book for the third module - the exstension topics that we are about to be examined on on the 25th. We are very lost without the book for the third module. It is impossible to help us now - but maybe something could be done for the people who will be in the same position next year. Thanks.

Steph — , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 18:37:00

The online revision for the GCSE is very poor there is no german history or sciences e.t.c which is what I really needed to look at!

Sarah Allen — , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 18:33:00

I really like your books as they summarise things quickly, not like other books, which make things long and BORING! T he pictures help a lot to tell you the truth. Right now I should be studying for my end of the year Physics exam! But I just wanted to congratulate you for your excellent books. Although one thing......those jokes at the bottom of each page are really NOT funny. Please get them off in future publications — I mean they are friendly and all but they try to be funny and it just aren't!

Maria — , Italy — 18 Jun 2002 at 16:55:00

i love it

rahat — small heath, london , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 15:12:00

hey i came onto this website to revise for my year10 end of year exams and my science module coming up on the 25th but there was no where to revise! you're books are really great and help out so much but revising online is so much better than reading text. I went to another website but still they don't have the right information for the modules so please please please could you make an online revision section it would help so much! thanks loads for your books... THEY ROCK! i wouldn't go as far as saying revising is fun but you have made a hell of a lot better than previous ways of doing it! p.s. the jokes are kewl! xoxox

kt — , UK — 18 Jun 2002 at 14:34:00

Your books are very good, because they are not boring like all the revision books from other companies. They are also easy to understand, and have lots of pictures in them, which makes them a lot more interesting.

simon brown — , UK — 17 Jun 2002 at 09:53:00

How come you don't do an economics revision guide i found all your other revision guides very helpful but there wos no economics revision guide to help me in these exams. many ppl now take economics GCSE so it would be profitable to consider a wider range of subjects as it will be much appreciated. TREV

Trevor — warwick , UK — 16 Jun 2002 at 18:28:00

i thought it was pretty good but erm it is a bit long and needs to be shortened a little to make it more interesting for little kids also i think u should put more pictures in it to make it more understanding and exciting . i dont think u should make it look boring like other books other wise children would not prefer to read it but my overall mark out of 10 would be 7 because it does help alot ...... well it helped me . thankxs

ooolaua — , UK — 16 Jun 2002 at 13:36:00

MARYAM PATEL — , UK — 15 Jun 2002 at 15:37:00

i think that your books are brilliant. They are really helpful, especially the Maths GCSE book which really helped me prepare for my two maths exams, Thank you and keep up the good work.

Lucy — , UK — 15 Jun 2002 at 12:00:00

Do your workbooks contain answers for independent learners?

Richard Matthews — , UK — 15 Jun 2002 at 07:25:00

can I have the 10 books for 2.00 each

safaa — , UK — 14 Jun 2002 at 22:26:00

Your books are really cool, but please put some online revision on here. To be honest, unless you want to order books this website is a waste of time. All you need to do is: 1. Put some practice papers on here which we can print off. 2. A list of key facts that you need to know for each subject. 3. Some online quizzes 4. Perhaps an e-mail address where you can contact a couple of teachers with revision queries. Apart from the website, your books are FANTASTIC and really cheap - I particularly like the revision guides. Thanks for all the help. M Pollen P.S Any chance of a Latin revision guide? It would really help!!

M Pollen — , UK — 14 Jun 2002 at 18:37:00

Dear Editor, I am 15 and am currently studying for my GCSEs. Whilst revising 'waves' from your 1998 Physics Revsion Guide and was hugely disappointed to read 'The waves travel slower in shallower water'. I sincerely hope that I do not have to explain the mistake. I realise that this is an old edition and I can only hope that someone has pointed out this mistake before, however I have spotted other mistakes in more recent guides. It worries me that such elementary mistakes in English grammar can slip through.

Steven Marshall — , UK — 13 Jun 2002 at 19:32:00

Are you ever likely to meet the enormous demand for Key Stage 3 and 4 workbooks/resource sheets for Business Studies as opposed to pure theory books?

Jenny — Cheshire , UK — 13 Jun 2002 at 17:22:00

At my school i have just got my exams coming up for the end of year 7 so it would be very helpful if i could revise online. But i cant because there is nothing for ks3 on your website .

I think your books are absolutely fantastic. The only problem is i live in Hong Kong and my school ran out of physics revision guides and refused to buy any more. I've looked all over the book shops no one seems to have them. Don't you guys distribute them to any one except schools?

i really like your books they have helped me so much. the only thing is that it doesnt cover the extra topics for separate science which i find difficult. is there one at as level and a level? if there isnt are they being produced , they would be very very beneficial for me and all students. thank you very much.

mostafa el badan — , Egypt — 11 Jun 2002 at 16:49:00

i think that these books are really easy and good fun to use although sometimes i think that you could make the text a little bit bigger so i would be an little bit easier to use and more exciting to use! but apart from that i enjoy using the revision guides. they have brought me a lot of help during my revision.

leah griffiths — wirral, cheshire , UK — 11 Jun 2002 at 16:28:00

Farah Nanji — , UK — 10 Jun 2002 at 22:18:00

why? why why why did you put the price up by a pound? it doesn't make that much of a difference, but still!!!! cgp books are now just the same as any other publishers books. i DID buy your books when they were cheaper, but now i'm gonna have to think twice

a concerned individual — , UK — 10 Jun 2002 at 21:42:00

Honestly, nobody should be able to criticise these books. By far the best revision guides about! The humour's not that bad, after all. Please consider technology and RE books!

Marcus Coleus — , UK — 10 Jun 2002 at 19:10:00

wow. the books are way better than this site. it looks rubbish. too many silly gifs, animations and rubbish graphcs.

Frodo — , UK — 10 Jun 2002 at 18:16:00

i find your books really entertaining and easy to revise with.the comments on the back eg. if swallowed rince moth with milk have me in histerics and sometimes nip into bookstores to read the backs. im not sad, honest... thanks for all the effort you put into them they are the cheapest yet best revision books on the market, keep 'em coming!

christina — , UK — 10 Jun 2002 at 18:09:00

These great sets of books are helping me through all my exams and they are a great help! I would really recommend them!

I have nearly completed my exams and have found that revision over the last few months would have been a nightmare with out your revision books. I have found the books for science very useful for class work and not just for revision. Thanks for the help!

MARCUS MILLS — , UK — 09 Jun 2002 at 21:22:00

I've recently used the GCSE English revision guide to refuel my memory of the techniques to use in an exam! Your book was great CGP, I also have the Maths and Science ones. They helped just as much, Hopefully I'll get a higher grade than expected! Thanks alot CGP!

Hi CGP! I think your books are great. They're funny and educational. I used your GCSE Revision Guide for Maths last December for my Mock Exam and I received an A grade (thanks!). I am currently using it for my final exam on Tuesday, so I hope it will give me the same results. As I am going to college in September, I wish to know if you are going to publish any more A-level Revision Guides besides Maths? Keep up the good work! Rach Oldham

Noshi Sattar — Manchester , UK — 09 Jun 2002 at 16:50:00

The a-level P1 Maths is great - but I really need books for all the other modules - please make them!

Paul — , UK — 09 Jun 2002 at 16:22:00

There are a number of mistakes in the answers to the maths questions about probability. They are: The answer to question 4b) should actually be 3/4, not 1/4, as the answer is (20-5)/20, which is 15/20. The answers to questions 6a) and 6b) are 1/40 and 39/40 respectively, not 1/50 and 49/50, as question a) requires you to divide 5 by 200, giving the answer, 1/40 and question b) requires you to subtract 1/40 from 1. Apart from that I found the questions very useful.

Fantastic, and they say revision is supposed to be a drag, your books help a LOT!! (But at my school (BRGS) and i think a few others, we have to do GCSE RE compulsory, and there are NO revision guides available, you should make one!!)

Savage Noodles — , UK — 09 Jun 2002 at 14:23:00

You should have some online practice papers, as the online revision is very limited. However, I think your books are very good.

J — Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield , UK — 09 Jun 2002 at 13:33:00

I feel that this is an enormously helpful site when preparing for GCSEs. However it might also be helpful to include some of the material contained in your excellent books on the website itself.

Daggins — , UK — 09 Jun 2002 at 10:45:00

your books are absolutely great, they really make revision less tough and boring, however in the KS3 revision guide levels 5-8, there are some strange phrases..."learn it real good"??? is the writer an American by any chance??? Also, the same book was a little daunting at first, there were to many big red and blue boxes. Underneath, the content was great. apart from that, all your publications are fantastic, especially the KS3 science revision guide. the little cartoons are a breath of fresh air. keep up the good work!

Hannah Corkie — , UK — 08 Jun 2002 at 23:11:00

Your books are good in their coverage, but as a teacher I can tell you that children (14-16) are put off by the juvenile attempts at humour. Sorry!

debs — , UK — 08 Jun 2002 at 17:52:00

Hi ya! I'm doing my GCSE Mocks on Wednesday to Friday! I have chosen: 1)Textiles, 2)Geography, 3)History And the 3 additional subjects! I have found your site very good, I thought that i would do very well in my maths exam, but when i looked on the online games there hard! I know it sounds silly but i don't want to revise because it depends on what type of questions i get in the exam, but i have to, to find out what the examiners want! I'm really nervous!!!!!!!! I will try my best!! Thanks for some GREAT revision books!, and your jokes are cool too!

Kayleigh — , UK — 08 Jun 2002 at 14:44:00

I think the books are very good. Is there anywhere that you can buy CGP books in Thailand?

Marie Cauchois — , Thailand — 08 Jun 2002 at 09:32:00

i just want to say that if it wasn't for these revision books i dont no wot would have happened to me. Responding to a previous criticism about the tar and humour involved, at the end of the day the humour is what makes it more interesting and easier to learn which i think is wicked. your books are absolutely fantastic and and helps get through even the worse of subjects and topics. keep it up and whether you no it or not, ur helping thousands of thick people like me!!! cheers!

payal patel — , UK — 07 Jun 2002 at 22:20:00

im just trying to find out a little more on the french language as i am re-sitting my g.c.s.e's.

claire akiens — , UK — 07 Jun 2002 at 22:12:00

I have to say that your books are very useful but i am most unimpressed that you cannot view them online. This kind of insults the educational system. I as a student would not pay for my education as the incentives are just not there. Maybe if you have this site showing all the latest books I may use it and recommend it to my fellow students but at the moment i feel like filing an official complaint. I understand you are an external company but why does the government not pay you for this option?

Matthew Henry — HULL , UK — 07 Jun 2002 at 21:38:00

I think that your books are good, however, i feel that to improve them you could add like a test at the end to do, and the answers. that would help a lot.

Maxine — Eastbourne, East Sussex , UK — 07 Jun 2002 at 15:05:00

I think you should make the pages your-selfs!

anne — , UK — 07 Jun 2002 at 14:55:00

Claire Peters — romford, essex , UK — 07 Jun 2002 at 13:43:00

a very good book for revision ! 10/10

Amber — , UK — 06 Jun 2002 at 19:14:00

I think that you should put a few practise papers on the site, with the answers, so that we can see what the whole thing is like before buying them.

Rozzie Yoxall — Taunton , UK — 06 Jun 2002 at 19:08:00

All of your revision books are great, they helped me revise 1/2 the biology syllabus in a morning (just before the exam as well-don't do that anyone else! It's bad!). I would really appreciate it if you could perhaps write a history book for EdExcel history students doing GCSE. Most of the info in the other history books helps but there are sections missing for which I would greatly appreciate your revision advice and wisdom. Thanx so far!

H. Lawrence — Wimborne, Dorset , UK — 06 Jun 2002 at 19:01:00

i think the on-line revision is brill and id like to see more subjects avalible to revise as i have my g.c.s.e's next year and need help revising.

kelly bowden — penycoedcae, pontypridd , UK — 06 Jun 2002 at 17:15:00

Your books We teach an adult GCSE maths course by flexible delivery. We always recommend your books to our students for revision, and we find them very useful. We keep a few on the shelves of our learning centre as well, for use in the centre only. So I have nothing but praise for your books, (they are not perfect, but the occasional typo can be tolerated). Your web-site. The design is attractive and the information useful. However, (did you guess this was coming?) I only did one on-line exercise, the decimal places and significant figures one, and there are two errors in the answers. I read your disclaimer, but all the same, it does look bad to have mathematical errors in such a public place, as well as confusing the students. The reason I looked on the web page in the first place was to find such exercises with answers and feed-back, so top marks for providing the service, but please get an independent check on your materials.

Joy Sabour — Preston College , UK — 06 Jun 2002 at 16:48:00

I have started doing a GCSE course on 'Human Physiology & Health', and I am wondering if you could let me know if you have any revision guides which would help me with this course. I have been using your revision guide's on a mathematics course and I have found it really usefull, so if you have a guide for this other course I would be gratefull if you could let me know.

Everything is absolutely ace.. ACE.. did you get that? ACE. However, there is ONE thing missing — the GCSE Design & Technology (Resistant Materials). Many many people are doing it for GCSE but there isn't a CGP book on it... (hmm..) please do one, then CGP will save so many people's lives.. You guys are ace.. so STAY ACE.. Well, that's if you can do a D+T book.. Ok, thanks, and remember... STAY ACE!! :)

Lisa — Rotherhithe, London, UK — 02 Jun 2002 at 21:53:00
