Guestbook Archive - April 2010
Why at AS and A-level are there no books for History, Politics, Economics and countless other subjects? Surely this is a rather large gap in your market. I enjoyed using your books at GCSE but am dismayed to find that when I want to continue my Academic Revision with them I am not able to do so? You're losing business!

Hi..... I love your CGP books..... and I think they're so imaginative...... by the way....I'm eating roast chicken a the moment do my speeling might be wroong......
yes...to the point...the books are good but the website is REAALLY dull, sorry to say....liven it up please!

Guestbook Editor: Your speeling looks fine to us.
I recently bought a book from a bookshop in the CGP range on maths KS3 — excellent book. So today I came on the website and purchased a few more books.
Shafia Begum — Bradford, United Kingdom — 29 Apr 2010 at 13:37:28
Excellent books. I tentatively bought KS3 maths for my home educated kids and it's simply excellent. We're not really following the National Curriculum, but these books really compliment the kids' learning experience. Yes, I did say kids. It means I'm going to have to buy MORE books!!!
Sam — Birmingham , United Kingdom — 28 Apr 2010 at 21:08:48
Hey CGP, just done a few pages on your BRILLIANT AND FANTASTIC KS2 Maths Question Book. Sometimes I am reading the questions and just laugh my head off! Who got the idea for Henry VIII hiding behind curtains? Hilarious! Level 5A, here I come.
Jack — Crewe , United Kingdom — 28 Apr 2010 at 20:42:03
Guestbook Editor: Not the first time that Henry VIII has been responsible for somebody's head coming off. (But it might be the first time it's happened as a result of his Hide and Seek skills.)
WOW what else can I say... I have got my SATS in about 1 week and I'm sooooo nervous.
Danielle — Stoke on Trent, United Kingdom — 28 Apr 2010 at 19:20:38
Guestbook Editor: Good luck! And don't worry about the nerves — there'll be lots of nervous politicians around next week, so you'll be in good company.
Great site!! Doing exams at the moment!

Great books, super exam practice — can we have exams for GCSE RE please?

CGP! Is the ultimate BEST of guides.
I've brought one for English and OCR GCSE science. I have my exams coming up and I'm sure it will help!! Thank you ALL so MUCH!
I adore your jokes!! what a laugh! :D
Steph — London., United Kingdom — 25 Apr 2010 at 19:08:18
CGP... what can I say, you guys are brilliant. I have your books for GCSE Physics, Chemistry, Biology - all are great learning resources. Unfortunately, the ICT CGP book I have been given is dated 2001, and still thinks 3 1/2" floppy is the most common form of backup.
Understand this isn't a grumble at you (as you are too bloomin' amazing) but at my school. Grr.
Tom — Malvern, United Kingdom — 25 Apr 2010 at 15:21:04
Guestbook Editor: Grr, indeed. Everybody knows that C90 cassettes are the future of data storage. (That was a feeble Monday-morning attempt at a joke, by the way. We have lots of lovely up-to-date ICT books covering all the latest technical whiz-bangery. Hooray!)
It was helpful (the games) I learnt a lot. I think it is fantastic! i will recommend it to many people. Hopefully it will help my SATS!! I was worried about them, but then when I came on this website I learnt a few tricks and extra tips for literacy. I hope people will find it as useful as I did.

Those CGP books are so real and additional to my everyday learning + they are also funny with those jokes at the bottom of the pages.
Zaby — Leicester, United Kingdom — 23 Apr 2010 at 18:43:12

Those CGP books help me in ict and also get me ready for year 7, although I am in yr 6. So thanks to CGP!!!

Thank you for your information
kieran jagpal — west bromwich, United Kingdom — 23 Apr 2010 at 18:30:42
Hey CGP I think your books are very good, very helpful and get straight to the point. Thats why I am writing to complain about you not having the popular exam board: MEI (a branch of OCR with a different mathematical syllabus). Currently I'm using your Maths OCR books and picking out some of the topics in OCR which is within the MEI exam board. Most probably this exam board won't be available for me if you decide to release one as I understand they don't just come out of thin air (they need CGP expertise ;) ). But, for the others doing MEI as well out there, I'm sure you would please the majority.

i found the website very unhelpful and had a lack of information

Wow.... only word to describe it.... wow. I am doing triple science right now and your biology, chemistry and physics OCR Gateway books are absolutely amazing. So easy to understand and I got an A on my physics exam when my target grade was only a C! I am doing higher paper too in all my science papers! Yay! Thank you CGP!!!

Jack — Norwich, United Kingdom — 20 Apr 2010 at 18:57:30
Does this book cover the new syllabus for OCR A ?
Dan — London, United Kingdom — 20 Apr 2010 at 14:21:19

TOO expensive !!!

I'm currently battling with a foundation Maths GCSE!!!
I'm a 'mature student' who needs a 'C' to get on to my teacher training course. I attend college one night per week, but I leave feeling more confused than ever!! I come home and refer to your book! I have just got a 'C' in module 1! Happy Days!!
Note to kids: make sure you get yr grade C in maths before you leave school or you will be doing it all over again 10 years later, not nice!! :)

its me again, so if the guy is called Colin, why doesn't he answer our questions, like you said he has the brains and he is the main man, why cant we actually talk to him?! i really would like to see him!!!!
and who is the guy were all talking to???????
Does he have brains? or does he just get paid to anwser our questions, probably £10 an hour or £50 for two hours, not to be rude but i am really determined to know after all theese years i've been reading CGP books!!!!!
Do answer please!!! :)
Judy — London, United Kingdom — 16 Apr 2010 at 18:11:53
Guestbook Editor: Ah, well, you see... Colin is a bit of a reclusive genius. He's very shy, which is why he wears sunglasses (the baseball cap is there to stop his enormous brain erupting all over the pavement). The guy/girl you're talking to on the Guestbook isn't quite as clever, and doesn't work at weekends — so sorry for the delayed reply.
Hiii. I love your books
Quick question will there be any revision guides for AS History coming out soon?
Maariyah — Derby , United Kingdom — 16 Apr 2010 at 17:47:17

Hi its me again, so CGP, your trying to say that CGP are the cleverest people in the world, i have to admit i am astonished, but i didn't see you in the worlds cleverest human at 2009 or the other previous years, but i will keep a close eye! LOL! By the way, CGP the man on the symbol, is he the main man of the CGP production or is he someone imaginary?
Cant wait to hear from you back!!!!!
(after all these tough questions, I'll tell you something positive at the end!!!!! its brilliant, really, i just LOVE them) x
Judy — London, United Kingdom — 16 Apr 2010 at 10:44:45

It’s me again, I’d just like to say that I would have died without your books, I mean not to be rude but it sounds that you have swallowed a gigantic ball with knowledge for every topic, I mean, not to be nosey but were you clever when you were young or… I don’t know… I wish I was like you guys!!! (but I know it will never come true)
THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU GUYS!
Judy — London, United Kingdom — 15 Apr 2010 at 17:18:45
Guestbook Editor: Were we clever when we were young? Goodness me, no. We had to swallow all those gigantic balls of knowledge the hard way. Without chewing.
Hi....CGP! I have bought so many books from CGP and i would like to say that i have adored them all, THEY HAVE HELPED ME SO MUCH!!!!!

Hi! LOVE CGP books, makes me laugh everytime, especially the ones not everyone knows about on the back of the books "keep refrigerated".
Any chance of making WJEC Related books, as my school never uses the whole books, just bits of it, so messy! WJEC is growing fast throughout schools nowadays, modernise yourselves CGP ;)
Thanks anyway for your books and make computing ones! PLEASE! much love x
SamRees — Newport , United Kingdom — 14 Apr 2010 at 11:09:34
Guestbook Editor: Hey, we're hip and modern cats, daddio. There's a shiny new stack of WJEC GCSE Maths books on the way in September, for starters. Er, cowabunga?
As a student, I often find revising a bit of a struggle, and, let's face it, teachers' notes aren't particularly humorous. CGP books help to get me motivated and make revising (relatively) interesting. Thanks CGP!
Natasha Gracey — Banbridge , United Kingdom — 13 Apr 2010 at 22:43:46
I am happy about the CGP books because it helps children across UK, which is a lot of people. It is a shame that Science is not taking part this year because it is fun to do and learn.
Thank you CGP for your books!
Alumbir Nahal — Birmingham , United Kingdom — 13 Apr 2010 at 12:10:01

Thank you very much for replacing the GCSE Music Revision Guide that we had ordered in error with the correct item. Your cooperation and prompt service was greatly appreciated, especially since it took a good week or so before we realised our mistake and we didn't pay again for the postage! Thank you.
Sue Kerfoot — Ashbourne , United Kingdom — 12 Apr 2010 at 23:50:26
i do like your books and think they are helpful and the jokes made generally are funny but i do not appreciate the jokes you have made in the religious study book (RE book) for gcse students. I am particularly offended by the jokes made at the bottom of the page about muslim teachings on god.
i hope you understand my concern.
Mariyah — Bradford, United Kingdom — 12 Apr 2010 at 23:36:29
Guestbook Editor: We're very sorry if you've been offended by the Religious Studies books. We like to put jokes in all our Revision Guides, but we think very carefully about whether they're appropriate, especially for subjects like RS. We know not everyone will be a fan of our humour, but we never mean to cause offence.
Always such an easy and quick site to use and the books are fab too. I would wholly recommend both.
Della — Coulsdon , United Kingdom — 12 Apr 2010 at 21:04:06
It is a sad truth that these books are actually needed. In an ideal world we would have no exams to sit at all. Unfortunately, that is not to be. Thankfully, we have CGP! And so now I all i have to say is... LET THEM EAT CAKE!
Simcha — London , United Kingdom — 12 Apr 2010 at 21:00:14
Guestbook Editor: Mmm... a utopian world where we have cake instead of exams. Have you considered a career in politics?
It's obvious you only show the nice comments...
Mr. H — Barnet, United Kingdom — 12 Apr 2010 at 15:22:43
Guestbook Editor: Not sure whether Mr/Ms 'I Hate CGP' (below) would agree with you on that...
i was wondering whether in the GCSE Biology complete revision guide, does it have answers with the practice questions? I don't know whether to get this book or the revision guide specifically for my exam board with the separate Practice workbook. please help!
Georgia — Hertfordshire, United Kingdom — 12 Apr 2010 at 14:25:43
Guestbook Editor: All our Science Complete Revision & Practice books come with revision notes, practice questions and complete answers at the back — all in a single handy book. If you know which exam board you're studying, a separate Revision Guide, Workbook and Answer Book will make sure you're revising everything you need for your course — and nothing you don't. Hope that helps with your decision!
I just bought a chemistry book yesterday, and now I get like everything!!! but could you guys work on a statistics and A2 maths book please!?!

For languages can you also have Arabic plzzz?
Arabic is a hard subject and a CGP book for Arabic will help a lot !!!!
Yasin — England, United Kingdom — 06 Apr 2010 at 22:08:44
Your Science GCSE revision guides are the best out there - but PLEASE include answers for the summaries at the end of each chapter and try and reduce large chunks of text, that aren't as user friendly as other pages!!
Also will there be a comprehensive range of A/S and A level revision guides???
P.S I ordered a revision guide at 9pm when should it arrive?
Ross — Leicestershire, United Kingdom — 06 Apr 2010 at 21:42:57
Guestbook Editor: If you place an order before 5pm, it should arrive with you the next working day. Orders placed after 5pm should get to you the working day after that - so if you ordered at 9pm on Tuesday, you'll get your book on Thursday (unless it gets held up in the post). Thanks for your other comments - we're always improving and adding to our range of books - keep an eye on the 'What's New' page for details...
