Guestbook Archive - March 2012

I am in year 11 and currently revising for my final science (chemistry, biology and physics) exams. Because I have taken 2 of the 3 stages, I am specifically looking for the 'triple' part of the courses.

I was wondering whether you do this books, as I found them very useful to revise from for the first two units. Thanks!

Leah — Durham, United Kingdom — 30 Mar 2012 at 17:32:38

Guestbook Editor: Hello! We've got exactly what you need — just head over to our GCSE Extension Science range (click on the 'Year 11' sign on the way). Beautiful.

I recently got the A2 Psychology book (the red one) and it's helped immensely... thankyou xx

i love how the reading for ks2 has helped me

no — liverpool , United Kingdom — 29 Mar 2012 at 19:40:58

Hi guys! Proud to say I'm actually excited for my GCSEs coming up now that I've ordered my maths, physics, biology AND chemistry revision guides! :D

Caroline — Liverpool , United Kingdom — 29 Mar 2012 at 18:26:28

Guestbook Editor: Hi! You've ordered some stone-cold classic CGP Revision Guides there. Keep them in mint condition to show to your grandchildren how amazing books used to be back in the old days. Of course, CGP will have complete control of the world's raw materials, energy resources and media channels by then. We've got big ambitions.

Hi, great set of revision books, have used them through the majority of my education, but there seems to be a lack of revision materials for D1, S2, FP1, FP2 ect?

Would be great to have them available.

Haydn — Guildford, United Kingdom — 28 Mar 2012 at 11:27:25

Guestbook Editor: Ah, we can help you with some of those. Here's a quick round-up of current A-Level Maths range:

All our AS-Level Complete Revision & Practice Books cover C1, C2, S1, M1 and D1...

...while the A2-Level books cover C3, C4, S2 and M2.

We've also got a brand new range of AQA and Edexcel student textbooks for each of these modules — the first ones will be out very soon indeed. Nothing on the cards for Further Maths just yet, though.

now i love maths i used to hate it

thomas — kirkby in-ashfild, United Kingdom — 28 Mar 2012 at 10:38:28

These books are awesome. When I had a test I got top marks i am in year 7 and I got a 7c which is the best mark possible. I even moved up a group and I'lI work at home a lot these are the only things I use.

thomas — nottingham, United Kingdom — 28 Mar 2012 at 09:31:11

Guestbook Editor: Excellent — glad we could help.

I cannot praise CGP enough for these fantastic revision guides! The science revision guides got my grades from a grade C to A* in biology, a B to A in Chemistry and C to B in physics! I have now ordered one of your revision guides for every subject. Would definitely recommend.

Olivia Mitchell — Harrogate, United Kingdom — 27 Mar 2012 at 19:25:21

You need to do a AS Literature book on The Kite Runner like you did with the Great Gatsby because they are really helpful.

Annick Carruthers — Sunderland, United Kingdom — 27 Mar 2012 at 00:31:12

Guestbook Editor: Good to hear you found the Great Gatsby Text Guide useful — we're definitely keen to add some more titles to the range, so we'll add The Kite Runner to the list of possibilities.

Once again I have suggested these books for my year 6 class - they are excellent value for money and so easy to order. Thank you.

Karen — Somerset , United Kingdom — 26 Mar 2012 at 20:37:35

Any chance of a GCSE Applied Business book for the edexcel single option?

J Walker — Witham , United Kingdom — 26 Mar 2012 at 11:24:50

Guestbook Editor: There's always a chance... but I'm not aware of it on our list of current projects. Sorry!

CGP has good books

Minal — Manchester, United Kingdom — 25 Mar 2012 at 14:16:48

Sorry, can we see books on-line ???

monica — valencia , Spain — 25 Mar 2012 at 11:41:36

Guestbook Editor: Yes! Some of our GCSE Revision Guides are GCSE Revision Guides are now available as on-line WebBooks (have a look as the demo). You can also flick through sample pages from most of our books by clicking on 'See inside this book' underneath the product description. Have fun.

I love your books so much-and the jokes! Can you please(please!) bring more of your books to Ghana??

Eyram — Accra , Ghana — 24 Mar 2012 at 20:07:00

I have quite a few of your books for a range of subjects, and I find them absolutely amazing for revision. They help me understand everything and I can make notes easily from them. But the best thing about them is the jokes at the bottom of the page. My friends think I'm incredibly sad but I find them hilarious! Dont let anyone get you down about the cheesy-ness of them... THEY ARE AMAZING. I wouldn't use any other text book. Thank you for helping me through GCSEs. See you on the other side of June!

Jess — Rochdale, United Kingdom — 21 Mar 2012 at 17:17:46

this is cool, but add MORE test books

matthew — ilkeston , United Kingdom — 20 Mar 2012 at 17:50:19

bucklesthomas — london , United Kingdom — 20 Mar 2012 at 16:40:52

My daughter godmother bought a range of your books for my daughter in year 10 who has been struggling at school with her study for gcse's.
Not only did your books come the following day after the order was placed.. my daughter loves them and in her own words now understands what she did not grasp before.. thank you.. the books are great

gina nicholls — saltdean , United Kingdom — 17 Mar 2012 at 07:37:40

I loved using your revision guides for my GCSE Chemistry, Biology and Physics exams! I'm currently using one for biology AS level too, but I wish you had revision guides for WJEC AS level too, especially for Maths and Chemistry!

Alice — Swansea , United Kingdom — 15 Mar 2012 at 18:26:09

Guestbook Editor: We're sorry we don't have any WJEC-specific A-Level books at the moment. But! Our books for all exam boads (e.g. MHR53 for Maths) cover a wide range of topics, so they should contain most of what you need. Hooray!

I love these books especially the science one.

sophie — armley , United Kingdom — 15 Mar 2012 at 16:39:08

I shall be having Steak and Kidney pudding and chips yum yum!!

CAZ — Crewe , United Kingdom — 14 Mar 2012 at 14:30:53

Hi CGP. Just wanted to let you know you're fantastic. Anyway, any chance of an A-Level Music book? And also, love the design of the new A-level Science books. Any chance of doing those for GCSE? Many thanks.

Derek Drew — Fungleton, United Kingdom — 13 Mar 2012 at 19:02:09

CGP Books ~ What a Great Service you offer, with super speedy delivery ~ Very Impressed ~ You're Superstars !!!

Amanda Lucas — Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — 13 Mar 2012 at 01:43:08

HI i was wondering if you could do a Dance GCSE revision guide because there is a lot of written work and stuff like that ....Thanks your science revision guides gave me my A x

Chloe Campbell — London , United Kingdom — 12 Mar 2012 at 20:40:48

Dear Editor(s), I do wish you'd publish a full and complete list of answers for each section. I'm a busy Mum supporting my Year 10 GCSE student and I need a checklist, otherwise it's a bit like the blind leading the blind. Why only print answers to two questions?

Claire — Surbiton , United Kingdom — 11 Mar 2012 at 18:58:02

Guestbook Editor: We're sorry for any frustration. Almost all the Revision Summary questions in our Revision Guides are there to test students on the key facts from the section. We prefer to encourage them to go back through the section and check anything they've forgotten, rather than just looking at the answer and moving on. (Although we usually give the answers to questions that require calculation, since these can't be looked up elsewhere in the book.) Hope that explains our reasoning a bit.

Any plans for an A2 Head start book for Chemistry and/or Physics. Having just ordered the AS and both for Biology. I could easily have added another £100 of books to the order if these existed??????

Kay Thomas — Rugby , United Kingdom — 11 Mar 2012 at 18:27:46

Guestbook Editor: Hmm... not sure about these ones, but I don't think we're planning Head Start books for A2 Chemistry and Physics, even though there's one for A2 Biology. Just one of the little asymmetries that make the CGP range so charming.

I think your books are excellent I buy them every year for my 2 boys and they have worked wonders. My boys have achieved higher levels in their class, which is what I want. I also like to shop from your website because I get 20% discount and free delivery when ordered over £40 which is not possible in other stores.

madhuri — leicester, United Kingdom — 10 Mar 2012 at 18:55:28

Guestbook Editor: Great news — glad we could help.

I was wondering if you could make:
GCSE economics (Edexcel)
A Level Classical Cilvilisation
I love your books and i cant revise without them!!!!!
:D

Sophie — LOndon , United Kingdom — 10 Mar 2012 at 14:22:30

Guestbook Editor: Thanks! We'll add those books to our list of requests...

I think that you're books are amazing and I was just wondering when the A2 Geography book will be out? I've read some previous comments about it, will it be ready before June? I really hope it is! Thanks to your books I do well in exams!! :)

Amy — Widnes , United Kingdom — 10 Mar 2012 at 01:30:48

Guestbook Editor: This is certainly a popular request on the Guestbook, but I'm afraid we won't have an A2 Geography book ready in time for this year's exams. Sorry!

it is amazing it helped me to make me get a good level in Sats:0

Micob — city , United Kingdom — 09 Mar 2012 at 18:53:52

I'm just wondering why there isn't an AS/ A2-level English Literature Revision guide, will you ever print one???

Abdul — London , United Kingdom — 08 Mar 2012 at 18:08:08

Guestbook Editor: No plans for any A-Level English Literature Revision Guides, as far as I know — there are so many possible texts to study that we'd only be able to give you very general advice. However, we do have a range of A-Level Text Guides (for The Great Gatsby, Hamlet and Othello), all packed with specific guidance for writing brilliant essays. You'll find them in our A-Level English section

Hi your books are great.

Just wondering are you making any AS/A2 OCR advancing physics B workbooks

or any other a level workbooks?

THanks

Mirza — newcastle , United Kingdom — 04 Mar 2012 at 18:09:54

Guestbook Editor: We're not planning any A-Level Workbooks as such, but all our Complete Revision & Practice books come with tons of questions to test your knowledge, with answers at the back (this includes our AS and A2 OCR B Physics books). We're also making a range of new A-Level Student Books for Maths and Sciences that are overflowing with practice questions. So you'll never be short of work...

A-level Politics? Edexcel pls

ghjk — Leeds , United Kingdom — 03 Mar 2012 at 16:51:48

Where do i find the answers for the GCSE revision guides?

kelly jones — london , United Kingdom — 03 Mar 2012 at 14:54:25

Guestbook Editor: You'll find all the answers by flicking back through the section you've just finished. The questions usually come in the same order as the notes in the book, so it should be pretty easy to check anything you (or your students / children) aren't sure of.

Are you planning on making AS Language revision guides?

James — Rennison , United Kingdom — 03 Mar 2012 at 10:11:13

Guestbook Editor: It's definitely not impossible. We can't be more specific than that at the moment, I'm afraid.

Hi there love the series just one question, I am currently in Year 9 just having chosen my GCSE options (Geography, Spanish and Triple Science or seperate science). Is the extension series suited for myself or should I purchase the 3 seperate books for each science instead? Thanks

James Law — Colchester , United Kingdom — 01 Mar 2012 at 23:03:23

Guestbook Editor: Hello! If you're doing Separate Sciences, we'd recommend our Biology, Chemistry and Physics books. (You can get exactly the same coverage by using our Core, Additional and Extension Science books — it's just arranged differently). Hope that helps.

this bok is great i had ma science test and my teacher asked the questions from this book got 15 / 15
