i love all of your text guide ranges for gcse english but when can you make one for Charles Dickens christmas carol and blood brothers

hamza — crossley, United Kingdom — 27 Dec 2012 at 21:17:01

These books are so not funny thank you for wasting my time. -_-
So next time you make another book i sincerely advice you to not attempt to be funny.

Wajiha — Batley, United Kingdom — 27 Dec 2012 at 14:50:48

I absolutely adore your range of revision books! They make revision so much easier, and the little notes and diagrams always make me giggle. You've helped make revision enjoyable and I think every student should invest in at least one of your guides. :)

(Commenting on book CATB51, AS-Level Chemistry for AQA: Student Book for exams until 2015 only

I offered our students the choice between four different textbooks and they all chose this one. An excellent book - the standard is as good as the revision guides, but in a textbook instead, with plenty of exam practice. No where near the number of mistakes as other publishers and with very clear explanations. Thank you, CGP!

Marwa — London , United Kingdom — 26 Dec 2012 at 16:28:33

Thanks to your too concise biology revision guide, i failed my biology AS level.

Luke — Leeds, United Kingdom — 24 Dec 2012 at 19:09:34

Just wanted to say thank you CGP your book is helping me through my AS psychology, unlike many other revision books that try to be funny, yours actually are funny and make me want to die a little bit less during revision... Ivy :)

IvyElizabeth — Warwick , United Kingdom — 24 Dec 2012 at 17:03:32

I have used your books for the past twelve years with my students. They are such a refreshing change from the quite frankly dry and boring books produced by your competitors. Highly recommend.

Sieglinde Grant — Chichester , United Kingdom — 23 Dec 2012 at 16:51:47

It would be helpful if you were shipping over the Christmas period - we are all revising for mocks!!

Tina — Wimbledon , United Kingdom — 22 Dec 2012 at 16:58:32

i loved thiis but i think u should make more on english 11-14

robert — London , United Kingdom — 20 Dec 2012 at 15:58:56

oh my god the page dedicated solely to "Cows" in the AS-Level OCR MEI revision guide is absolutely hilarious, brilliant idea.

Libby — Blackburn, United Kingdom — 18 Dec 2012 at 18:25:04

this site helped my revision substantially, but i was annoyed to notice when i bought a revision guide with the same serial number, that it was infact an OCR revision guide and not an AQA revision guide. Unfortunatly this was not evident in the pictures of the book on this website.

chris — maidstone , United Kingdom — 18 Dec 2012 at 17:50:16

Guestbook Editor: Sorry to hear that — this definitely shouldn't have happened. All our books have different ISBNs and bookcodes, but editions for different exam boards can have very similar codes. It might just be that the wrong one has been picked up somewhere along the line. If you drop an email to our customer services team, they'll sort you out with the right book, no problem.

Will you be producing a SPAG revision book for the new Y6 test?

Help Needed — town, United Kingdom — 17 Dec 2012 at 09:21:27

Guestbook Editor: Yes, indeed. We're on the brink of publishing a range of updated SAT Buster Workbooks for Reading, Spelling, Punctuation and Handwriting — plus a brand new book for Grammar. In addition, we're making totally new Practice Test Papers for the new SATS, which should be ready in mid-January. More news coming very soon...

Yep, that was pretty groany. Favouriting this page now :P

(Commenting on book GRR43, GCSE Geography OCR B Revision Guide (A*-G course)

Please could you advise if this books has a newer version? I have been led to believe that the spec will change and this will become obsolete after the exams in 2013

Lynn Latowsky — Wadebridge, United Kingdom — 14 Dec 2012 at 16:46:31

Guestbook Editor: Hello — this book (GRR43) has been freshly updated in the last few months to take account of the new marks for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar that were introduced in September. It also covers the 'strengthening' of the spec that's being brought in for the 2014 exams. The basic content of the course isn't due to change, so this book should see you through OCR B GCSE Geography for the next few years. Hope that helps.

Hey CGP, I just wanted to know whether you have a University Course range on another site or something? I'm taking Computer Science next year so was wondering if there was anything in that sort of area... I really like your books and terrible jokes, they make it great to revise :D

Callum — Warrington , United Kingdom — 13 Dec 2012 at 15:23:55

Guestbook Editor: Ah, sorry — we haven't ventured into undergraduate education yet. Universities can choose to teach whatever they like (within reason) to their students, so it would be very difficult to make books that covered everything you need.

You're welcome to keep coming back to the CGP Guestbook for terrible jokes, though. Here's a Computer Science-themed creation to get you started:

Q: Do you like 0 and 1?
A: Yes, I love them two bits.

I absolutely adore your range of revision books! They make revision so much easier, and the little notes and diagrams always make me giggle. You've helped make revision enjoyable and I think every student should invest in at least one of your guides. :)

He used a wonderful piece of software called John Lennon to write Eleanor Rigby and George Martin to record it!
Peace and Love!

Ringo Starr — Liverpool , United Kingdom — 12 Dec 2012 at 20:58:07

Guestbook Editor: Thanks for clearing that up — Peace and Love to you too. (This relates to the Guestbook comment before last, for anyone who's bemused.)

brilliant website found the books needed in no time at all, unlike the book shop.and it was chicken balti for tea.x

sally jones — denton , United Kingdom — 12 Dec 2012 at 17:43:13

What software do you use to make your revision guides?

Paul McCartney — Liverpool , United Kingdom — 11 Dec 2012 at 15:54:31

Guestbook Editor: I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to say... it might be some sort of trade secret. Let's just say we a use widely available desktop publishing and graphics packages, plus an entertainingly outdated collection of clipart to supply us with our much-tolerated funny pictures.

Now, what software did you use to write and record Eleanor Rigby?

Hey CGP, have you got a book for the edexcel linear maths specification for 2012? Its a new spec that has more functional questions. If you have which book is it?

Maths Student — Mathematics Town, United Kingdom — 10 Dec 2012 at 20:06:28

Guestbook Editor: Hi! This is a simple question with a surprisingly complicated answer. Brace yourself.

GCSE Maths specifications have basically stayed the same since September 2010, so all the books in our GCSE Maths section are up-to-date for the current courses. But... from September 2012, all GCSE courses have been made Linear. Schools can still teach the old Modular specifications, but all the exams are taken at the end of Year 11.

So it depends whether you're taking the Edexcel A Linear course (which has always been Linear), or Edexcel B (which used to be Modular). If you're still confused — and who could blame you? — have a word with your teacher to find out which spec you're taking, then get in touch with our friendly customer services team for further advice. Good luck.

♫ Any plans for an A Level Music revision guide?? ♫

Daniel Quayle — Onchan , Isle of Man — 10 Dec 2012 at 19:42:43

Guestbook Editor: Every night we toss and turn in our sleep, racked with fevered dreams about making an A-Level Music book. But for the moment, dreaming's all we do — if only they'd come true.

Hi just like to say when i was in high school we used CGP revision books and they were a great help that was 15 years ago.
now i have a 7year daughter who is struggling with her english a lot i've tried everything and nothing seemed to work!!!!

Anisha — Accrington , United Kingdom — 05 Dec 2012 at 20:57:39

Hi, I'm looking to get a cgp book to re-take an alevel. What's the differences between a student book and a revision and practice guide?

Kelsey — Essex, United Kingdom — 05 Dec 2012 at 16:28:23

Guestbook Editor: Our Complete Revision & Practice books contain everything you need to prepare for the exams. They're great for recapping what you've learnt over the course. Our beautiful Student Books on the other hand are designed to be more helpful during the course and cover the material in a bit more detail. If you're re-taking the whole year, the Student Book's probably the one you need, but if you're just after some extra revision material, the Complete Revision and Practice book should do the trick! For a comprehensive explanation of all our different book types, you can always have a look here. Good luck with your re-take!

Hey there CGP. I'm currently in Year 9; I'm starting my GCSE courses next year... I wanted to know when you will be releasing 2013 GCSE syllabus revision guides, and how long does it normally take? I will be getting a lot of books, most likely in bulk.

Jitesh — England, United Kingdom — 05 Dec 2012 at 07:53:50

Guestbook Editor: The books that you're after are probably available already! We always keep our books up to date for the latest exams — and whenever the specifications are updated, we work our socks off to make sure the books are ready before the new courses start.

Brilliant books, used it as a student through KS2 right up until GCSE and now using them as a tutor! Don't know what I'd do without these books.

Bhav — London , United Kingdom — 04 Dec 2012 at 12:06:38

Any chance of a GCSE applied business studies (Edexel book)? Or will one of the other business studies books cover it. Thanks.

Sam — London, United Kingdom — 03 Dec 2012 at 18:34:45

Guestbook Editor: Sadly there are no plans for a GCSE Applied Business Studies book at the moment. We don't have a Revision Guide that covers all the material you're after, but a lot of the topics from the Edexcel specification are covered in our GCSE Business Studies Revision Guide, so you might find that's a useful place for some background reading...

we missed the school dead-line for ordering these books via them, so were prepared to pay full price. Very nice to be given an unexpected 10% discount and free p&p! Thanks
