(Commenting on book ML4W23, KS2 Maths Question Book: Level 4 - for SATS until 2015 only

Hi. Do these question books contain answers?

All the best, Matt

Matt Friend — Folkestone, United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2014 at 23:57:07

Guestbook Editor: Yes, they do indeed — although we haven't mentioned it in the book descriptions. We'll get those updated now.

Answers to your answers:
2.Skodas ARE awesome (even if the bits come off and it's slow)

You helped me with my 11+ but sadly I still failed most of them :(

Hi, We are from Argentina but have a homeschool in the States. My daughter is dyslexic and hates to study but absolutely loves all the books that we have bought from you so far. They are graphic and funny and she actually learns. They are not confusing or roundabout or dim like so many other books:)
We love club sandwiches for our tea and scones along with some dulce de leche and alfajores. What do you have for tea?

Raffaella Carla — Concord, United States of America — 26 Feb 2014 at 15:39:28

Guestbook Editor: Excellent news — it's great to hear that our books are being enjoyed across the Atlantic.

I don't think anyone's ever asked us what we have for tea before. I generally have some kind of stir-fry, because I lack imagination and cooking ability. But those alfajores sound good.

Please please please consider making books for the IB! I will send cookies and hugs and thank you for my better grades.

Jaz — Haywards Heath, United Kingdom — 25 Feb 2014 at 20:45:21

Guestbook Editor: Cookies and hugs? That's got to be worth considering...

I would like to say thank you for the help your books have supplied me with through the past 4 years (GCSE's and A-Level). They have been a real help. This is why I am slightly disappointed that you guys didn't have an Economics revision guide for me to use.
(I guess I am procrastinating a bit right now... Should probably get back to your fantastic A2 Chemistry guide.)

Taylor — Bucks, United Kingdom — 25 Feb 2014 at 20:06:50

Guestbook Editor: Thanks — we're really pleased that our books have helped you out. Sorry about the current lack of A-Level Economics coverage... we're looking into it as a future project, but that probably won't be much consolation. Good luck with your exams!

Your books are cool but here's some helpful advice... The jokes in your books are not really that funny so you might need to hire a comedian...

1. Why is everybody nagging to do the SATS? I just don't get why it's a big deal.
2. Do you have a Ferrari?
3. Are you awesome?

Your Name * — Town *, Sri Lanka — 25 Feb 2014 at 17:08:43

Guestbook Editor: Answers!

1. The SATS are a standardised way to assess your progress in the core Maths and English skills at the end of Key Stage 2 — although many teachers aren't massively keen on this form of testing.
2. No. But I do have a Skoda.
3. No. (See point 2.)

Hello. And Bye.

I have been using CGP books in my teaching since I was sent copies of the very first ones at the school where I was then teaching. Since retiring I have worked at home and at a study centre for dyslexic pupils, both Maths and English. Your books are superbly set out, content is brilliant, humour catches the kids, layout is excellent - I cannot praise them enough. In fact I am trying to replace books parents have 'borrowed' !

Ann Tipper — Bromsgrove, United Kingdom — 21 Feb 2014 at 10:24:36

I've ordered 4 books in the science category and they're going to be helpful I pray so

Miss Tunika Nwakalo-Imu — Kent, United Kingdom — 20 Feb 2014 at 23:42:11

Good books, but people can be easily fooled by which book to buy, a friend of mine had to return one she once purchased and I'm sure there are plenty of others. Also, AQA exams in particular have exam questions mostly about using science in Context and cgp books barely ever describe how to answer those questions, it's mainly factual knowledge but doesn't state where to apply them, which something i think needs to be improved. Although explaining is clear, it's not very handy contextually.

Katie — Brighton, United Kingdom — 19 Feb 2014 at 21:08:10

Guestbook Editor: Thanks very much for your comments — we're sorry if our range of books has caused any confusion. We aim to offer a broad choice so that there's something to suit as many people as possible... the only drawback is that it's not always immediately obvious which book you should go for, especially for subjects like Maths and Science.

Your point about context-based questions is a good example of this. Our Science Revision Guides are a really good way of learning all the facts and methods you need for the exam in a clear, condensed style. But we now also make 'Complete Course' Student Books for AQA Sciences — these are much chunkier books, with more contextual examples, advice and exam practice. If you're looking for more in-depth coverage, these might be worth investigating.

Do you do an A-level further maths book?
If not, would one be available to purchase in future?
If the answer is still no, then I would very much like to know why?

Viren — Coventry, United Kingdom — 19 Feb 2014 at 10:47:46

Guestbook Editor: Hello — we don't currently have any books for A-Level Further Maths, I'm afraid.

We'd love to add Further Maths coverage to our range in the future, but it probably won't happen as soon as all that. (This is due to a combination of our Maths experts being incredibly busy with other projects and A-Level syllabus changes looming on the horizon.) Sorry not to be more help at the moment.

(Commenting on book M6MM21, KS2 Maths SAT Buster - Mental Maths (with audio tests)

This is a fantastic revision book - BUT Trying to find the audio files to use with this book - old link not working since you changed website over - please tell me where I will find it! Thanks!

Suzan Baker — Esher, United Kingdom — 17 Feb 2014 at 12:59:18

Guestbook Editor: Sorry to hear you've been having problems with the audio files. The link printed in the book (www.cgpbooks.co.uk/ks2mentalmaths) seems to be working on my computer, but here's a direct link to the page:

KS2 Mental Maths SAT Buster Audio Files

Hope that works — but let us know if not!

Excellent books as they have always been, prompt delivery and an excellent tool to allow me to help a friend's son. My only complaint is the website itself; needs some serious updating to bring it back up to speed and a new GUI!

James — Northampton, United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2014 at 19:13:18

The sats books are amazing I been doing 30 minutes every day and it's really helping me and I'm not the best at English but the books are amazing to do. If you're a year 6 child and struggle with a subject then buy them they are worth the amount of money you pay for them. What are you waiting for BUY THEM!!!!!!

Lauren — Great sutton, United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2014 at 15:56:31

Guestbook Editor: Wow — thanks for the enthusiastic recommendation. Hope the SATS go well.

Thank you to everyone at CGP for your excellent customer service with a friendly smile!
My order was delivered immediately.
Then I discovered that I had made a mistake! CGP let me return the book for free and then replaced it for free! Even though it was my mistake!!
I am pleased to say that the books are brilliant and that I will be ordering more in the near future.
Thank you everyone at CGP! Your customer service is second to none and I will be recommending you to everyone I know :)

I absolutely love the little messages at the back of your books: always brightens up my day!

Chelsea — Luton, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2014 at 22:19:50

I just had to say - Guestbook Editor. You are really kind of cool, and exactly my level of nuts. Your comments about chicken salad really spoke to me.

Jen — Middle of Nowhere, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2014 at 21:03:04

Guestbook Editor: Well, my Mum says I'm cool. (And come to think of it, my Mum's name is Jen. But I'm sure that's just a coincidence.)

any a level maths or science apps for iphone being developed currently??

A.i — ilford, United Kingdom — 10 Feb 2014 at 19:59:12

Hello. And Bye.

Just wanted to say a big thank you! Your 11+ books are fantastic. They've just helped my son get into a very prestigious grammar school!

Just wanted to thank you for all your help over the years from primary to leaving sixth form, even though I've never met any of you, you're still my favourite teachers.

Aicha — London, United Kingdom — 05 Feb 2014 at 04:32:59

Guestbook Editor: Oh, thank you — and thanks for sticking with us throughout your school career. Good luck with whatever you go on to next...

Compared to other books for Biology, Chemistry and Physics at both GCSE and A-level, these will always be the clearest and best books to buy. Thank you CGP for getting me through my GCSEs two years ago, fingers crossed for A-level results in August!

Abi — Nottingham, United Kingdom — 03 Feb 2014 at 17:17:50

Guestbook Editor: Our fingers are also crossed. It's slowing down my typing a bit, but I feel luckier already.

I love these books - need a GCSE study guide for Othello though. I will be teaching this next year and in coming years so will keep popping back to check ...

Julie — Carnforth, United Kingdom — 02 Feb 2014 at 20:29:58

I LOVE these books. I was so excited to get these in the post. I have read them everyday since I got them. They were super cheap and are super easy to understand. Could you possibly make one for German GCSE? It would mean the world.

Paula — London, United Kingdom — 02 Feb 2014 at 19:15:06

Guestbook Editor: You're in luck — here are some we made earlier: The GCSE German Range.

i think that its much cheaper for schools than students or parents and they are very expensive however they are useful as i am a y6 about to do my sats

beal — bishop auckland, United Kingdom — 02 Feb 2014 at 19:09:34

Honestly one of the great revision tools money can buy (and at a cheap price). Also unfortunately you don't sell CIE IGCSE books; if you did that would have been great as I wouldn't have to break down so much text from my textbook. But hey what is stopping you guys from publishing this syllabus in the future?

Syad — Poole, United Kingdom — 02 Feb 2014 at 17:52:55

Guestbook Editor: Thanks very much. We're always expanding the range of courses that we cover, so more CIE books are a definite possibility in future. (We've already made a Maths Revision Guide and Workbook for CIE.)

I wish i could have one for free. i am a student.

Emmanuel — Dalston, United Kingdom — 01 Feb 2014 at 17:52:11
