Guestbook Archive - November 2014
the new "discover and learn" ks2 history and geography books are amazing and absolutely essential to any primary school. These colourful books are brimming with content and the accompanying workbooks are a must have and great value for money.
Wish I had these when I was at school!!!!!!!

I find the books useful
had — dorset, United Kingdom — 29 Nov 2014 at 14:56:27
Absolutely love CGP - their books and website is incredible. Very helpful and I got a great discount too. Any plans on a head start to AS history book?
Molly Nicholson — Rugby, United Kingdom — 29 Nov 2014 at 11:49:43
Guestbook Editor: Glad we could be of service. Not sure about our plans for a Head Start to AS History book, but with new A-Level specifications coming up soon, anything's possible.
Do you have the answers to the GCSE AQA revision guide 1a summary. For all the three sciences Physics, Chemistry and Biology I have an upcoming test and I need to revise. Thus, I would be grateful if you could reply to me.
katie — Pontypridd, United Kingdom — 29 Nov 2014 at 10:55:23
Guestbook Editor: Hello — you'll find all the answers to the Revision Summary questions by flicking back through the study notes in section 1a. The questions are there to check that you've remembered the key facts from the section, so if there's anything you're not confident about, it's worth having another look through the topic to make sure you've got it securely lodged in your brain.
how can i order a catalogue?
fam — town, United Kingdom — 28 Nov 2014 at 16:26:01
Guestbook Editor: Easily! Just send a quick email to email@example.com — please remember to include your full name and address so we know where to send your catalogue to.
Hi, do you think it might be possible, sometime next year, to publish an OCR, AQA & or Edexcel AS-level Physical Education Revision Guide.
I think the theory aspect of Physical Education is purely a matter of knowledge-based fact-retrieval and applying it to sporting examples; it wouldn't be all too difficult to create a revision guide for PE.
Thank you, and please do respond.
P.S. - I have achieved four A* so far at GCSE with your books. I hope this year is even better!
Sheldon — London, United Kingdom — 27 Nov 2014 at 22:16:03
Guestbook Editor: Thanks for the suggestion... we'll pass it on to our Book Development team to mull over. However, they (and our editors) have their hands pretty full creating a swathe of new books for the upcoming GCSE and A-Level curriculum changes, so it might be difficult to squeeze in extra projects at this stage.
P.S. Excellent work on those grades — good luck with the next batch!

Please can you let us know when this will be available for the Kindle.
Claire — Twickenham, United Kingdom — 27 Nov 2014 at 20:40:56
Guestbook Editor: Very soon, hopefully — we're currently working through a big batch of Kindle conversions, and this GCSE Biology AQA Complete Revision & Practice book is coming up on the list. It should be available before the end of 2014, or very early in 2015.
Any plans on a book for Edexcel GCSE Geography A or B?
Casey — Willington, United Kingdom — 27 Nov 2014 at 19:14:59
Guestbook Editor: Not at the moment — sorry!
Once again CGP staff helped solve the problem thank you

hi like this website
callum-joe — wickhay, United Kingdom — 27 Nov 2014 at 07:43:26
why on earth is the AS business studies book so much more expensive than the other books???
is it better or bigger???
kattybag — sf, United Kingdom — 26 Nov 2014 at 16:33:26
Guestbook Editor: We're not quite sure what you mean... our AS-Level Business Studies book is the same price as all our other A-Level Complete Revision & Practice guides. (On our website, at least.)
We do have a combined AS and A2 book for AQA Business Studies — this is more expensive than the individual books for each year, but less than the price of buying them both separately. Does that clear things up?
(Commenting on book CRTB61, A2-Level Chemistry for OCR A: Student Book
This book saved my life. It is such a good supplement to the main OCR class textbook (if not a tiny bit better)

In the GSCE Geography AQA A Specification book, it says that the "Atlantic Plate is being forced under the Caribbean Plate." However, there isn't an Atlantic Plate, so how can I trust a book which doesn't even have correct information!
peter — skipton, United Kingdom — 19 Nov 2014 at 18:42:17
Guestbook Editor: You're right — there's no such thing as the Atlantic plate (although the term "Atlantic plates" is sometimes used at GCSE level to refer to the North and South American plates collectively). Apologies for any confusion — we'll make sure this is made clearer next time we reprint the book.
We check and proofread all our books carefully to make sure the facts are right, and we've covered everything the exam board asks you to learn. Accuracy is incredibly important to us, so we're confident you won't find more trustworthy books anywhere else!

when will you release GCSE Law for AQA? when will you release IGCSE edexcel history? why don't the videos on my online GCSE maths book work? the complete revision and practice one with online answers... thanks cgp!
just — town, United Kingdom — 17 Nov 2014 at 14:11:34
Guestbook Editor: I will answer your three questions consecutively and honestly: I don't know, I don't know and... I don't know.
GCSE Law and IGCSE History are unlikely to be joining our range all that soon, but our technical team might well be able to help you with the online videos — just note down the problem and the name of your web browser in an email, and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you so much for your books, I worship them. The small jokes at the bottom of each page unexpectedly make me smile. They help me through all my assessments and exams, and I can guarantee that I would not do nearly as well without them. So thanks again, for all the helpxx

(Commenting on book EHW35B, KS3 English Workbook (with answers)
This book is great, really helpful for my Key Stage 3 pupils. However, advertising it as (with answers and online edition) is false marketing. The answers are not included, and must be purchased separately, which is a bit of a con.
This should have been made clear from the beginning.
A Teacher — STOKE-ON-TRENT, United Kingdom — 15 Nov 2014 at 18:57:14
Guestbook Editor: Ah, apologies... I think there's been some confusion here. There are two versions of our KS3 English Workbook — one with answers included (EHW35B), and one without (EHW35). We usually assume that teachers would prefer to have a separate Answer Book, so EHW35 is the version you'll see if you're logged into our website as a school. (And we don't claim it includes answers!)
I would like to see a IGCSE for exdexcel history please!
it would help me a lot
jkh — l'pool, United Kingdom — 15 Nov 2014 at 16:29:35
It does not have answers. Just a question book.
john mckee — West Molesey, United Kingdom — 14 Nov 2014 at 17:58:12
Are you thinking of releasing an AS Accounts revision guide any time soon?
Tom — Teeton, United Kingdom — 13 Nov 2014 at 11:26:09
Guestbook Editor: Not as far as I know... but nothing's impossible.
I've just discovered your 11+ range - I think it's much better than the Bond books I used for my older child a few years ago. There is more variety of questions and I think they are more challenging. I also like your topic-focussed Practise and Learn books for age 7-11, especially algebra, grammar and punctuation. It is really helpful to have a whole book dedicated to a topic, rather than a few questions here and there in a book than covers a cross-section of a subject. If you were thinking of extending the Practise and Learn range, a book dedicated to fractions, decimals and percentages would be most useful.
It's a shame WH Smith don't seem to stock your 11+ range in their stores (at least not where I live), although they sell these books on-line. I guess many people are unaware this range exists, just like I was until a friend told me about it!
Beata Rosinskka-Raju — Sutton, United Kingdom — 12 Nov 2014 at 22:02:50
Guestbook Editor: Thanks very much — our books are meticulously planned and written to make sure they're the best you can buy, so it's great to hear they're doing the job. Spread the word!
I think you should have more apps that are free.
It would be better if every book had a free sample that you can try.
Sanjeev — Crawley, United Kingdom — 11 Nov 2014 at 19:13:18
I like the questions that are set it gives a lot more chances to rethink your answer out of 100 I give it 98.78

Guestbook Editor: Wow, that's 4939 out of 5000. A very favourable review — thanks.
Is their an app to view your online books or are there any plans to release one ??
Jai Aujla — Coventey, United Kingdom — 08 Nov 2014 at 00:23:12
Guestbook Editor: I don't think we've currently got any plans for an Online Edition App. Interesting idea, though...
hannah hussain — Derby, United Kingdom — 06 Nov 2014 at 20:29:17
Can you please add a few more free apps because mum doesn't let me use money and there is only a gcse science app that is free?
chanpreet — Birmingham, United Kingdom — 06 Nov 2014 at 19:01:33
Guestbook Editor: Sorry to hear about your cash-flow problems. Luckily, we only make Apps for GCSE Science at the moment, so you're not missing out on any freebies for other subjects.
In the AQA GCSE Biology revision guides, for the mini tests after each half chapter, where can I find the answers as in the back there do not appear to be any. Other than that all of your books are really good and have been helping loads. Could you cover more exam boards?
Maria Jones — Bristol, United Kingdom — 05 Nov 2014 at 19:22:16
Guestbook Editor: Hi! The Revision Summary questions in our Revision Guides are there to make sure you've remembered everything you've just studied, so you'll find the answers by flicking back through the section (the questions usually come in the same order as the material in the book).
We're always keen to cover more exam boards — for KS4 Science we already offer a big range of syllabus-specific books for AQA, Edexcel, OCR Gateway, OCR 21st Century, AQA Certificate, Edexcel Certificate / International GCSE and BTEC First Awards... which isn't bad for starters.
I'm enjoying your website. The only negative thing I could come up with is to have a taster of what information books have and if you want to buy it or not because if you aren't satisfied with the product you wouldn't be able to bring it back. So I advise you to give people free versions for a limited amount of time -- a week.

These books are not boring, I want to learn when working with them they are fun. I took them to school to see if we can all use them
Alexander wardrop — Darlington, United Kingdom — 04 Nov 2014 at 20:42:41
Are there any Edexcel IGCSE books for English Language and Literature and Mathematics?
If not, will any be coming out soon?
Also, will they last for the specification for testing in 2018?
Someone — Somewhere, United Kingdom — 04 Nov 2014 at 17:14:30
Guestbook Editor: We can help you with Edexcel International GCSE Maths (browse our IGCSE Maths range to see what's on offer), but not with English yet, sorry.
It's possible that Edexcel's International GCSE Maths specifications will change for the exams in Summer 2017 and beyond — if this happens, it's likely we'll make editions of our books nearer the time. As a result of all this, we can't guarantee that our current books will be a perfect match for the exams in 2018. Hope that helps.
Do you currently have any Cambridge IGCSE (CIE) books available?
Are you planning to produce any more?
Someone — Somewhere, United Kingdom — 04 Nov 2014 at 17:09:13
Guestbook Editor: Yes, we have Cambridge IGCSE Books for Maths — there's a Revision Guide and matching Workbook. I don't think we've got any definite plans for more at the moment, but that may change over time.
Are the recently new Edexcel Certificate/International GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics for Edexcel Certificate also for either Edexcel IGCSE or Cambridge IGCSE? If not Cambridge IGCSE (CIE), when will they be coming out?
Someone — Somewhere, United Kingdom — 03 Nov 2014 at 22:45:54
Guestbook Editor: Hello — all our Edexcel Certificate books are suitable for the Edexcel IGCSE courses. In fact, the Edexcel Level 1 / Level 2 Certificates are the same as the Edexcel International GCSEs — they're just known by a different name depending on which part of the world you're in. Which is slightly confusing.)
We haven't yet made books for the Cambridge IGCSE Science courses, and I don't think we've currently got any definite info about if and when we'll be doing them. Sorry to be vague.
Excellent books. Very user friendly. We're having jacket potatoes for tea!
