Mistake on GCSE Physics revision guide, bottom of page 94, 3) Should say "is always the same" not "is the always the same"
Arsalan — Manchester, United Kingdom — 28 Apr 2015 at 21:07:40
Guestbook Editor: Oh dear — sorry about that. This has been corrected in the most recent version of the book, so next year's students can enjoy this sentence without any unnecessary extra words cluttering it up.
specific and relevant, I will definitely be buying these in the future

Hello I'm a very big reader of CGP books and I'm in year 11 now but I've been using cgp books from year 2 until today and I'm not planning to stop however I'm shocked to hear that there is no further maths CGP book and I was actually going to rely heavily on the CGP books throughout my a levels, so is there going to be any further maths CGP book and if not then why?
Abdullah — Islington, United Kingdom — 27 Apr 2015 at 21:00:42
Guestbook Editor: Hello! We'd love to add A-Level Further Maths to our range, and we're planning to make a book in time for the start of the new A-Level Maths specifications... but those new courses have now been put back until September 2017 (and even that's still a bit up in the air).
So we hope there will be a CGP book for A-Level Further Maths eventually, but it might not arrive until you've finished your exams, unfortunately.
Your range of books are fantastic! My eldest son has used them from KS2 through to A-level and my youngest is now starting home education and with little academic confidence is finding them a massive boost to his learning due to their ease of use and fun nature. Thank you!

Guestbook Editor: You get them right here!
There is a grammar mistake in your Physics AQA Revision guide. On page 88 at the bottom of the page, in the sentence '4)' there should be the word 'the' in between the words 'it' and 'right'. I should be one of your proof readers.....
max whittome — lyme regis, United Kingdom — 25 Apr 2015 at 14:17:05
Guestbook Editor: Perhaps you should — you're certainly right about this one. We'll get it corrected at the next reprint. Thanks!

Guestbook Editor: Er, thanks, Tim. Your secret's safe with us.
I am extremely happy with your books. I bought your International GCSE Mathematics revision guide to study for my IGCSE exams, I find it really helpful. :)

I believe there is a glaring mistake in one of your Physics revision guides that should be dealt with as a matter of emergency. On page 84 on the third diagram in the page it hasn't labelled the 'dotted line' as the normal. This is obviously a abhorrent mistake that I hope never to see again.
ed white — sidmouth, United Kingdom — 21 Apr 2015 at 19:17:14
Guestbook Editor: Ah, yes, you've got us there — we haven't put the 'normal' label on that diagram (although from the info given in the example, it'd be difficult to confuse it with anything else).
We'll ensure that this monstrous error is expunged from future editions of this book.
Great resources. I am really pleased with the bite-size videos and the booster for maths. I appreciate the work done for tutors and learners.

The language books I've ordered have been extremely useful, the only issue I can say I've had is they don't tell you how to pronounce things that could be confusing if you didn't already know a word like it, but otherwise, they are great and I would recommend them.

Guestbook Editor: Next you'll be telling us your name isn't really Dave.
Your study guides and workbooks are extremely useful tools for encouraging reluctant mathematicians in Year 3 to partake in extra maths tuition. The bright and colourful 'Practise and Learn' books are very engaging, have an element of fun and instill confidence. Thank you. Btw, I had crab sandwiches for tea. Very tasty.

You guys sell fantastic practice papers. My Science teacher recommended it and it's just so fantastic, gives me a brilliant experience with the past papers and prepares me for GCSE. Keep up the good work! If you're wondering whether or not to buy this pack, I highly recommend you buy it if you're doing your GCSEs!!!

richard bingham — larne, United Kingdom — 16 Apr 2015 at 13:59:23
I think that the books are great because my teacher gave me one for my revision for my food tech mock and it describes everything in a simple and quick way of remembering the key facts that i need to know and i also love the practice questions as it gets me prepared for what questions that may come up in my mock exam.
Thank you so much

I just wanted to tell you how fantastic your GCSE maths foundation revision book has been for our son. He is taking his GCSE this Summer and it is really helping him. The tone is just right and the layout is proving really useful to him. I would go as far as to say this book alone has given him far greater confidence than any tutor could. We're so delighted with it, we've just bought the Geography guide!

In your physics GCSE AQA revision guide I think it would be useful to specify which one of Newton's laws of motion you are referring to e.g. 1st law:, 2nd law: etc.. Also on page 50 of the Physics AQA GCSE revision guide it says 'how dopey you are'- I highly doubt that saying dopey in an exam would get you the mark.
hugh — sidmouth, United Kingdom — 09 Apr 2015 at 15:02:28
I very much admire your books. However, I believe there have been couple of small mistakes in your AQA GCSE Chemistry revision guide. On page 83 (page on alcohols) the first equation on the page says the state symbol for H2O is (g) when it is (l). This is obviously a small error but still an error. Furthermore, on page 91 (about bond energies) it says the bond energy of Cl-Cl is 242kJ/mol, when it is actually 243kJ/mol to the nearest whole number. These are obviously minor but I thought I would let you know.
Jake wright — exeter, United Kingdom — 07 Apr 2015 at 18:42:53
Guestbook Editor: Hello! We've asked our Chemistry team to have a look at these queries, and they're confident that they're not mistakes. I'll let them explain in their own words...
"Firstly, the equation on page 83 shows the reaction that happens when alcohol is burned in air. Because of the high temperature the water would be a gas.
"Next up, the bond energy given for Cl-Cl varies a bit depending on which source you look at. So do the bond energies for other bonds. Luckily, you don’t have to learn any bond energies for your exams, since the examiners will give you any bond energies that you need. Just make sure that you use the values that you’re given in the exam in any calculations — if you don’t use the figures you’re given you won’t get the marks."
Hope that helps?
Have you ever thought of writing a GCSE Astronomy book? (Edexcel)
Adam — London, United Kingdom — 05 Apr 2015 at 19:08:52
Guestbook Editor: I can't say it's something I've given a lot of thought to — I generally have my mind on more mundane things like remembering to buy more milk/bananas/broccoli after work.
As an aside, I don't think GCSE Astronomy is on the current list of CGP projects either. Sorry!
I'm using 3 of your books for revision! the last time I used them I got full marks! do you do any English books?
Tom — southend, United Kingdom — 04 Apr 2015 at 15:17:36
Guestbook Editor: We certainly do... to find out more, just go to Our Products and choose 'English' under the Key Stage you're interested in.
I am glad that I tried your practice test and workbook. I am helping my daughter prepare for 11+ test this september. at first I bought lots of GL products, Bonds test, elevenplus books then finally CGP. Colyton Grammar school recently made changes in their exam adopting CEM style and looking at their sample questions, CGP has more of the same type of questions and guidance on how to proceed with the exam. I just hope there'll be more practice test books available :)
