Guestbook Archive - June 2003
I hope that signing my name in the guest book will help me revise for my GCSE's next year and I will hopefully pass. Thank you for your help and will be glad to hear from you soon.
Faye baptist — Gillingham, Kent , UK — 29 Jun 2003 at 20:44:00
I would expect a better site than this from CGP... What about online help and a Science coursework revision guide?
Derek Egbetson — , UK — 29 Jun 2003 at 17:25:00
What can I honestly say? The CGP books have helped me out so much I'm going to get A*'s in ALL OF MY BORING EXAMS. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Keep it up. All you sick mandemz out there who criticise CGP can go and get lost.
SAMMY — , UK — 29 Jun 2003 at 16:31:00
Hi I think that your books are excellent to revise from especially the maths books! But I think you should do more to encourage schools to buy your books because for some of my subjects there were not your books available like Business. Thanks for making my revision a lot easier.
Tina Chumber — Bilston, W. Midlands , UK — 29 Jun 2003 at 16:03:00
Very great site. Greetings.
Joe — , USA — 29 Jun 2003 at 12:03:00
Please could you put a practice paper on here for PHYSICAL EDUCATION?
Natalie — , UK — 29 Jun 2003 at 11:30:00
I think that the CGP Books are FAB! They really helped me to get through my KS3 SATS, with revision and homework! I am definitely going to be using them for my GCSE'S! THANK YOU! P.S: Could you use a wider range of bright colours for the front covers please?
Trudy — England , UK — 28 Jun 2003 at 16:31:00
I would recommend these books to anybody. They are EXCELLENT! They really helped me to get through my KS3 SATS, with homework and revision! It makes the subjects a lot easier to understand. I am definitely going to be using them for my GCSE's. THANK YOU!
Trudy — England , UK — 28 Jun 2003 at 16:22:00
I love your website, but could you add quizzes? Thanks a lot
kay skoglund — surrey , UK — 28 Jun 2003 at 16:00:00
WOW! Thanks CGP! Ordered Thursday evening, items arrived Saturday Morning! AMAZING SERVICE! Honestly, I cannot thank you enough. You don't mess about like other companies. THANKS A LOT!
Neil — SWINDON , UK — 28 Jun 2003 at 16:00:00
Thank you for helping me with my work
Shanila Daswani — , Hong Kong — 28 Jun 2003 at 04:56:00
Wonderful maths books - to be recommended to all those struggling with KS2 and KS3. Have used them in private tuition and brought children up from near certain level 3 to actual level 5. Easy to follow, very user friendly and fun!
Jane Ellis — , UK — 27 Jun 2003 at 12:24:00
The books are very useful thanks.
Jane — , UK — 27 Jun 2003 at 10:59:00
Could you please add some more pages to the KS3 revision section please? Thanks oh it's the science section
Christine Cordingley — Pevensey Bay, East Sussex , UK — 26 Jun 2003 at 19:19:00
CGP Books are great they helped me improve my science test from a 70% to 84% and in my mathematics from a 54% to a 78%
Olivia Murphy — Downpatrick, Northern Ireland , UK — 26 Jun 2003 at 19:00:00
Don't listen to all those complaints - that's just bad students taking out their misery on you guys. I think that your informal English is great and of course it's obviously not supposed to teach perfect English but Science or Maths or whatever. And the graphics are fun, and keep saying "ace" as much as you like - it makes your books original (since no one has used that word for 100 years). Cheers.
Louisa — Chelsea, London , UK — 26 Jun 2003 at 16:00:00
I cannot really explain what an AMAZING difference your books made to me when I was studying for GCSEs. They were absolutely fantastic. They give information without being complicated, and I even appreciated the jokes at the bottom of each page...revision does strange things to a person! I would love it if you could do triple science GCSE books-you really need to do them! Apart from that, congrats on by far the best books on the market and THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Louisa — , UK — 26 Jun 2003 at 15:48:00
Hi CGP I am taking my GCSE and I am in year 10. Your books are really great particularly the science ones. They have really helped me in mock exams. There is one problem though: I have looked EVERYWHERE for ELECTRONIC revision guides and found none I have looked on the AQA specification for GCSE ELECTRONIC and it outlines briefly what you have to learn (not like any revision guide, just BORING notes) so why is it so difficult to produce that book? It would really help if you could produce a GCSE ELECTRONIC revision guide COULD YOU TELL ME why it is so difficult to produce an electronic revision guide and if or when you are going to produce one?
jamie — , UK — 26 Jun 2003 at 14:04:00
Hello just thought I would say that these books are brilliant I have used them for French, maths and history they give you all the information needed and I recommend these to you
Emma Coyne — , UK — 25 Jun 2003 at 20:06:00
need more helpful revision on all subjects as all of my 9 friends say as well
katie mills — , UK — 25 Jun 2003 at 17:55:00
These books are great for revision as they have great info in then to make it more fun there are jokes hiding
sarah — , UK — 25 Jun 2003 at 16:38:00
I own CGP books for all subjects I studied for GCSE, and some of them were very useful. However, I was studying higher tier mathematics and the book was very basic and higher tier maths is hard and the book didn't go into much detail over trickier topics and I had to use other revision sources. And as you probably already know your separate science revision guides need updating to include new modules. I found the history revision guide very useful however but I did find a few mistakes in your ICT revision guide. You need to realise by making careless mistakes in your books, you are making teenagers loose marks - get your act together!
Jade — Bolton , UK — 24 Jun 2003 at 21:48:00
Just popped by to say: Russian revision guide!
Edd — Tunbridge Wells , UK — 24 Jun 2003 at 21:20:00
I think CGP books are excellent and they have made such a big difference to the way I revise. I am currently studying for the IGCSE, so your range of GCSE revision guides have been of great help. Have you thought of making a revision guide for music GCSE? Would CGP, in the future, consider creating revision guides aimed at the IB (International Baccalareate)? Thank you
Sophie Kendrick — , UK — 24 Jun 2003 at 16:17:00
This is the best place to shop for your books
chelsea davies — , UK — 24 Jun 2003 at 15:13:00
I think you should have games in your GCSE section so students can learn and have fun at the same time!
Jenny — Gloucester , UK — 23 Jun 2003 at 19:59:00
Do you have any Music and Geography books?
Gabriella Shareen Bateman — London , UK — 23 Jun 2003 at 19:32:00
By using the CGP books, I have a wider range of knowledge, also the CGP books are not boring - they have all the topics that I need to know for my modules.
Poonam Vora — Oldham , UK — 23 Jun 2003 at 19:23:00
I think that your Revision Guides are great - but have you got any Short Course Revision books? I would like a Short Course PE book for revision.
Grace Sewell — , UK — 23 Jun 2003 at 19:00:00
CGP books are great and I find it really easy to revise from them!
Isabelle Kelly — , UK — 23 Jun 2003 at 12:51:00
Your site is pretty good but you could do more for revision like quizzes and questions
Charlotte Bullock — , UK — 23 Jun 2003 at 11:36:00
Your books are rubbish and I don't understand them at all. I think you could say they are as bad as Physics, but that makes Physics sound worse than it is. From now on it's BBC all the way. If you want to make decent books that people read take note - then you may use info which is correct instead of your tripe.
Me — , UK — 22 Jun 2003 at 21:03:00
I think that your site is great! There is a lot to do like revise and things and I find it quite interesting. I am 11 years old, just about to start my end of year ks3 Maths test and I need help revising - this really helps! Thanks!
Joanne — , UK — 22 Jun 2003 at 17:37:00
Hi, I think your book is great, I have a Science exam on Tuesday and the book is giving me a lot of help, hope it helps everyone else, thanks a lot - you're great
Chelsea Yarwood — , UK — 22 Jun 2003 at 16:52:00
I think you should have online revision for all subjects because I am in year 8 and I have got end of year tests for all subjects and I don't know what to revise!
Holly — , UK — 22 Jun 2003 at 14:05:00
Brill, got an A in science. Thanks. Very easy to understand and read
Alex — , UK — 22 Jun 2003 at 12:52:00
As good as your books are, I think the web page has a bit left to desire. I expected interactive exam practice questions which I could test my knowledge on, but was sorely disappointed when there were none to be found. Sort it out!
Ryan — , UK — 21 Jun 2003 at 20:57:00
Hi I really enjoyed your books but I do need more help to pass my 11+ bye see you
annah — , UK — 21 Jun 2003 at 18:52:00
Your books are fantastic. They helped me through my exam and I got level 6 in science, maths and English. I am very proud of your books - keep it up.
Sarah Richards — birmingham , UK — 21 Jun 2003 at 15:59:00
Yep, I agree with that guy/girl 'Rack'. The books are so clear and take you through the subject from the very start so that you really understand what's going on. These books are supposed to HELP us, not DO our revision for us, and they do help, so that's great.
Jecca — , UK — 21 Jun 2003 at 14:12:00
This helped me with my Sats
Leanne Judd — Peterbourgh, Cambrighshire , UK — 21 Jun 2003 at 11:55:00
Can you download worksheets from your website on to a floppy or something like that for free of charge
Jamie Florance — Newcastle-Upon-Tyne , UK — 21 Jun 2003 at 11:17:00
Yeh, the CGP books are wicked, everything is so easy to revise and the whole setout of the book helps so much! Just thought you should improve the website though because it would be handy if there were special CGP quizzes on the stuff in the books so we know where we're going wrong thanks
Manpreet Saund — , UK — 20 Jun 2003 at 16:37:00
I think the books are great. They are very good at helping me revise as they have a lot of colour, (which helps as I'm a visual learner,) The pictures and little jokes also break up the stress of the revision, it makes it slightly more interesting. I'm definitely going to buy your books in the future as the help me a lot. Doing my 2nd topic GCSE Maths exam on Wednesday the 25th and my first actual science exam the day before. WISH ME LUCK PLEASE! I'm sure your books will help me do well. Better
Vicky — Callington, Cornwall , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 20:39:00
I think your books are brill. They got me through the SATS and I have the Double Science award book and it is helping me so much - keep up the good work!
Lauren Fensome — , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 17:22:00
I tried to revise for my next Science modules that I am taking next week and I was comparing your site with the Bitesize revision and I decided that the setup of the BBC revision website is a better site to revise from. It's colourful and fun and it tests you on every subject. Although your books are great.
Lauren Wright — Nottingham , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 16:58:00
I've just finished my GCSEs, and I must say I found these revision guides extremely helpful. They don't always contain a great level of detail, but then again, they are revision guides and not teaching guides. They're superb for looking at before the exams to help remember stuff. Nice one.
Andy — Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 16:43:00
I cannot find help for KS3 Mathematics Book 1 Numeracy Strategy Year 7 workbook (level 4-5)
Kaysi foster — Chiswick , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 15:39:00
Please can you write a KS3 workbook and study guide for Geography! When will I be able to obtain the answers to the KS3 ICT workbook? From a teacher who is currently teaching Business Studies, ICT and Geography!!!!!!
Miss A Marsh — Flintshire , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 14:57:00
;fact feeding" rather than "questioning and testing". The true result will arise when the future general public becomes completely alienated by scientists who do and will always say, that we can never be certain of anything. For that, books like this will share some of that blame.
Haydon — , Switzerland — 19 Jun 2003 at 12:47:00
Where is the revision section for GCSE ICT?
Bob — , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 09:32:00
Needs more colour!
Ilean — , UK — 19 Jun 2003 at 09:30:00
Hi. This website is full of exciting information. Most of my books are from CGP. Maths, science and English. I came to do online revision for my end of year assessments in English. Your study books and work books I have got, really helped me out. And my assessments are going perfectly fine because of all the revision from your books. This website is really cool and cannot be improved more because there is nothing to expect more. Thanks for all your help.
nida khan — , UK — 18 Jun 2003 at 23:46:00
Please do a Russian book, nobody else does and you can even make rubbish jokes if you like! Say ace as much as you want...
Edd — Tunbridge Wells , UK — 18 Jun 2003 at 22:27:00
Horrific website! there is no on-line revision. Maybe you should do something about it. Your books are good, so do something about this website!
Jake — , UK — 18 Jun 2003 at 22:10:00
Hi, I am in yr 10 and I take double science. I have to take a test next week which a percentage goes towards my final grade at GCSE. I would find it very helpful if you had a website which could show me how to answer the questions to get full marks and pass. I hope that you would keep this in mind for people who take this test after me
lauren — , UK — 18 Jun 2003 at 20:44:00
These books are really helpful and I have found out a lot more through using them thank you
George — east hendred , UK — 18 Jun 2003 at 12:13:00
I have two very bright dyslexic sons, age 11 and 13. Both high IQ (137 and 141 Mensa tested) both find revision excruciating. Your books are a tremendous help as they put everything in order. Revision either on line or by using CD ROM would be very helpful for them. Dyslexics need to have all their senses activated to absorb, information. I buy books on CD to enable them to enjoy literature. Reading is strenuous. Do you have resources that I could use/buy that will help. I look forward to your reply.

Rack — Surrey , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 22:21:00
By the way, I've just been on the guestbook and seen one or two people knocking the unique sense of humour of CGP books! Don't listen to them! Your jokes are the best and they really do help dreary revision, e.g. Inert Gases, they're Noble-de use to us chemists. Classic! Keep up the good work.
Martyn — Nottingham , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 19:51:00
I'd just like to know if there are any plans for a GCSE Electronic Products Revision Guide. It's of no use to me now (for me the exams are over) but of the lot, I found Electronics the hardest subject and especially hard to revise for, because I had no idea what the syllabus was or even complete notes to match that syllabus. Also why are there so few books for A-level?
Martyn — Nottingham , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 19:45:00
jane — , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 17:12:00
I would like to congratulate you on these superb books. They are ultra-efficient and far superior to I have encountered in my life time. The advice and encouragement given is exemplary. The colours and pictures stimulate the minds of all children. These books have made me realize one can enjoy life and excel. Even the exceptionally gifted have and are suffering under such poor teaching. Be blessed and receive wisdom so your business will flourish like foliage.
Anonymous — , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 13:31:00
I think you should do more revision books and online testing. I came on here looking for help on my GCSE graphics revision as my end of year 10 exam is next week. When I clicked the online exercises I found that you do not do revision help for any D&T exams. Please can you think about changing this for the unlucky few of us who have chosen GCSE graphics and have very few websites to help us revise.
Pip Bettles — Sleaford, lincs , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 10:11:00
I would also like the CGP catalogue book please. I could not find how to order it.
ebin — wembley , UK — 17 Jun 2003 at 09:44:00

After reviewing your marketing strategy and your team's approach to their customers, I would have to say that in all my years as a top flight business executive I have rarely witnessed such professional excellence. I suggest that you look after your head of marketing as he or she is obviously a genius.
tarquin worthington smythe — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 23:09:00
very good indeed
dean rees — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 22:36:00
This is actually a very interesting set of books. I have the GCSE Double Science Biology Revision Guide, Higher Level of course, myself. It came in handy for homework, classwork, and for exam time when it was time to study. Thanks CGP!
Monique Hudson — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 21:55:00
I am a sixth form student currently sitting my A Levels, when looking in bookshops etc I have noticed that there is a definite lack of revision materials for both Languages and Music whereas subjects such as science or maths there are row after row. Revision guides for these subjects would have helped me greatly, have you any plans to cater for such subjects in the future?
Philip Purvis — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 20:24:00
I think the books are great they tell you everything you need to know and there not boring! Since I have been using the books I have done well in school, Thanks a lot
Jessica Evans — Blackburn , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 19:20:00
I'd just like to say your books are the worst revision guides out there. The 'jokes' just put me off revision, you do not explain things well at all and why is there no GCSE music revision guide? Don't you think music is important? Advice to everyone: don't get their books. There, that's my moaning over
Daniel — Tilehurst , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 16:06:00
Hey! Great books. I'm a Separate-Sciencer, so I've had to rely on your books for quite a bit (although some of the stuff we study isn't in there!). I would like to say: PLEASE BRING OUT SOME MORE CGP GUIDES FOR AS and A-LEVEL. ESPECIALLY: English Lit, French, Geography and History. Thank you!
Crystal Reed — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 15:27:00
It's very good but you need to put revision questions on the site
eve — london , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 15:23:00
I love CGP books. Not only do they break revision up into easy to handle pieces, but they make it a lot funnier as well, with their sarcastic sense of humour! Plus the books tell you little snippets of things that could make the difference between an 'A' and a 'B' grade!
Sophie Watson — Leyland , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 14:44:00
I really think that the GCSE CGP books have improved my grades in my school work. The layout is easy to read and contains the really useful stuff with amusing captions to provide relief from the learning. Thanks very much CGP for brill books!

I ordered KS3 French On Friday at 5 o'clock and it was in Devon on Monday at 10 o'clock. Excellent
Brenton — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 11:51:00
I think CGP books are great for visual learners, as there aren't any A-level versions I make my own notes with pictures on word if you do A-level.
annabel — , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 10:26:00
An economics revision guide without sad jokes would be very useful....please make one...
sophie watson — london , UK — 16 Jun 2003 at 03:00:00
Just wanted to say that CGP books have not helped me with my recent year 11 GCSES! They are not really cool, and I think the witty jokes and light hearted comments are a POOR way of helping teens learn what they need to.
Jamie Sporon — , UK — 15 Jun 2003 at 13:50:00
Hmm very good website.. tough it's a bit too late.. but well done to everyone you actually have worked to do this website Good luck to everyone

Louise — , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 20:57:00
How can you order
jill loveluck jones — port talbot , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 20:24:00
What a pity that with your Key Stage 3 Strategy Books that you are printing the year on the cover. It would be much better just to have the levels and would therefore stop putting pupils off who may be in year 9 but are still working at level 4 and 5 etc.
Fiona Marshall — , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 18:20:00
I just want to say that these books are wicked and have helped with my exams a lot! they are well illustrated and look great!
Sat Kaur — , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 15:17:00
Please can you send me a customer catalogue because I can't find where it is on the site! Your books are great!
Hannah Ruddick — Wimborne , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 13:31:00
I think your books are really useful - I used them for science GCSE last year and they greatly aided (and livened up) my revision. My only complaint is that you do not offer on-line practise questions for AS level maths- I have an exam tomorrow and I think they would be beneficial for last minute revision. Thanks for your excellent books!
anonymous — , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 11:24:00
The website has got better since I last saw it keep it up!
teskeen — , UK — 12 Jun 2003 at 10:24:00
This website is very useful for revision thank you for your help, it has made revision a lot easier. by Talitha from Queen Elizabeth Girls School, Herefordshire, London
Tillie — , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 23:31:00
Hi this website is great but you need a Spanish revision guide and work book, a religious education revision guide and work book, a drama revision guide and work book, a geography revision guide and work book, a P.E revision guide and work book, an art revision guide and work book, a music revision guide and work book and a welsh revision guide and work book. The website also needs more games and revision tips. I am just about to sit my year 7 exams and want to be in set 1 for all my subjects, do well and feel proud of myself. All the people in my class call me a swat however I don't feel like one, I desperately don't want to get lower marks than them because I like being a swat. Help!
ellie — , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 19:58:00
This site is good for revision! I have your books for some subjects and they help! I'm studying for my food tech exam tomorrow help! lol.
kayleigh — Bristol , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 18:58:00
Hi, just wondering if you could do a Latin book and a Russian book, because I know people have asked for both of them before and I am doing them both for GCSE in year 11. (thought I might as well start asking now) I think there could be a market for them, because nobody else does revision guides for them so you'd have no competition. Thanks. P.S. stop saying ace all the time, no-one ever says that.
Edd — Tunbridge Wells , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 18:38:00
I think all the books are wicked for a kid who is going to secondary school it will help so much and make to a level 5 to 6
kaymei kabia — beckenham, kent , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 18:04:00
We, the tutors at the Alkharafi Centre running a voluntary school for Key Stage 3, and 4 are very impressed by the quality of your workbooks and practice papers. We plan to move further with A levels and look forward to doing more on those fronts with CGP books. Excellent work. Keep it up.
Dr. M.I. Patel — Camberley, Surrey , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 12:41:00
Hey. Fair play guys, your books are superb. Everyone I know relies on them. I am currently in the middle of my exams and they have been a massive help. The layout, content and range of the books is superb. Keep up the good work.
Marcus — , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 11:29:00
Your books are ok but the jokes are PATHETIC. I looked everywhere for a sociology CGP book and there wasn't any, reason? I hope you start doing more as/a2 revision guides i.e. psychology, English lit, business.
Josh — , UK — 11 Jun 2003 at 11:26:00
Hi. I just want to know how to get onto the online revision page, as it says 'click on the button to go to that page' and there is no button.

Hi, really cool web page
Rachel White — , UK — 10 Jun 2003 at 11:13:00
Your books are excellent they really helped me with my SATS. Keep the good work up
alice brooke — , UK — 10 Jun 2003 at 11:00:00
I have already emailed you about this but i will say it again - WE NEED A LATIN REVISION GUIDE! Everyone on here agrees with me as you and I can see! Your revision guides are great though. PS a Textiles revision guide would be good too!!
leyla williams — , UK — 10 Jun 2003 at 09:06:00
THIS SITE IS BRILL IT HAS REALLY HELPED ME WITH MY REVISION THANKS
ABBIE HARDISTY — WAKEFIELD, WEST YORKSHIRE , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 21:33:00
You should have the books on the website
carly shaw — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 21:20:00
Do you have KS3 and GCSE history exam papers?
sophia talbot — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 21:14:00
Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to express my concern at how overcrowded your GCSE revision guides are - mostly with unnecessary waffle. They are not humourous and are simply off putting. Whilst I understand that the guides must contain the whole course, the higher level biology book was full of information which wasn't in the course... As were the maths, geography and other science guides! Why fill the index with pointless things such as "Russian Agent", "Easy Peasy" and "Ridiculous"? NOT FUNNY...ANNOYING!
Dave Colon — Luton , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 19:22:00
I think your books are great! They really take the drown out of Revision! They are funny and light hearted! You remember the colourful diagrams! I am doing great so far in my exams! Thank you!
Em — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 19:05:00
Hey thanks for all of the hard work CGP. The books really help me but can you do a Canterbury tales prologue revision guide? I cant find one anywhere!
tillie — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 18:41:00
This web site is absolute rubbish especially that stupid algebra football it's just pointless and a waste of space
Anonymous — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 18:36:00
I think CGP books are the best and I love using them for revision because they are so much fun!
Kirsty Smith — Liverpool , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 17:59:00
I wanted to have some science games but I couldn't find any
sophie — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 17:07:00
Why are your books made from cabbages? Why were a number of trees harmed in the making of these books? Why, if there is no barcode present, should you shut down and re start? Why oh why?
Bill — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 16:13:00
I'd like to thank CGP for making the best revision books available. I'm almost done taking my GCSEs (Maths and History tomorrow), and I don't know if I could have been so confident without my CGP books. Great job at making them both interesting to read and informative, as well as funny!
David Allan — Ashford , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 15:35:00
CGP books helped me pass my GCSEs without doing any classwork whatsoever. Thanks sincerely.
Big Dave — Ecclesfield, Sheffield , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 12:32:00
I think that your site would be much better if you provided practise exam questions online for students like me desperate for some last minute practise. Your history service is appalling as you mention no history books and give no online history revision.
Mr Islinghood — , UK — 09 Jun 2003 at 11:10:00
Aloha - just dropping by to send my regards, oh gracious and most wonderful of revision guide people. And to say "ta muchly" for the cool maths revision book etc etc and that those imbeciles who seem to find your magnificent work trivial or mundane should see psychiatrists immediately to ensure there isn't something dangerously wrong in their lives that could cause offence or harm to members of the public.
Anonymous — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 22:09:00
I think your books are great and have helped me loads!! However do you do/or plan to do a revision guide for Latin because my friends and I find it IMPOSSIBLE and we need all the help we can get?! Or if you don't can you suggest anywhere I can purchase one?? Thank you!
Isabelle Langdon — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 20:29:00
I really enjoy revising with you books. But I wanted to say one thing. If you could would you use "Jpn" rather than "Jap" in your History revision guide? I know it's not so important but it's nicer if you could use "Jpn"...
aya — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 18:07:00
I think your revision books are great. They obviously won't suit everyone and can't replace hard work but they really helped me revise. Many thanks.
JC — Formby , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 16:02:00
I think the site is poor as it says practice questions and then there aren't any.
Richard Smith — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 15:52:00
I really like your books + think they are very helpful but will you please do an IRISH book!?
Louise — Northern Ireland , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 15:41:00
I think these books are very good for GCSE revision, although sometimes I feel the pages are a bit crowded. I also think there should be one for music GCSE, as music is so boring and the books would make it slightly funnier. I also think that your website should have tests on it, if it does I couldn't find them! Thanks CGP, you're making my life a bit easier.
Charlotte — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 14:45:00
I think your books are very helpful, I get really distracted when revising but after buying your books a few days before my exam I tried to cram as much stuff into my head as possible.... so far, not so good. Remind me next year to leave 6 months to learn the stuff, never mind just revise it! The "smart" comments and funny jokes make me giggle and I think the people who have "dissed" it on here must be a little bit silly! CGP Rules! (Make Latin book please)!
Elle — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 14:41:00
Please make an electronics and Latin book. It's a bit late for me now as my exam is in two weeks, but others may need them in the future
stephanie — crawley , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 14:11:00
I'm in my last week of my GCSE exams, and I just want to say your books have really helped me with my revision and taking the exams. Thanks very much
nick — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 13:52:00
I have bought 3 science workbooks from school, only one of them has got answers for me to check. Where can I get answers for the other two so that I know weather I am getting them correct?
Laura Ioannou — Halifax, West Yorkshire , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 12:25:00
Hi I'd just like to say... that your books are ok.. the jokes are a little corny.. but most of us can live with that.. they do help though!
dani — east acton, london , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 10:58:00
I'd like to say your site is really cool but I want to be able to revise on this site as well. not many sites have revision but if you could give me some that would be great
foirell tyndale — , UK — 08 Jun 2003 at 09:52:00
These books are awful, I had used them in GCSE History (Overall Grade was B) and they only proved to be light entertainment, awful illustrations, crap jokes, disgusting aesthetics make up most of the content. Although the idea is principally good to portray facts in a light, humourous way, no student took them seriously, what I imagine to be a 50 year old's sense of humour "Buy our books - they're ace!" might work with the Board of Directors, certainly didn't work with modern teachers
James — , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 22:55:00
The books you make are so funny and easy to learn.
rana — , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 19:39:00
I came to this website to revise for my yr8 exams next week. It said there was educational games but all I found was pages from your revision guides which I already have. Then it said "we hope you have enjoyed the games" but there were none. I am very disappointed although your revision guides are great.
Jasmine Pughe — Leighton Buzzard , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 17:00:00
ts in your revision guides, and I thank you for taking the time to try and help people struggling with revision. I look forward to a reply.
Rebecca — , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 15:06:00
Drawing to the end of my AS levels, yet having only a P1 revision guide didn't help much with the other maths units, let alone the other subjects. Your books are great, especially for GCSEs but students are going to get a nasty shock when they start to revise for their A levels. Is there a chance you may publish a P2 revision guide or any Physics AS/A2 revision guides for the Edexcel spec? Because we're all suffering!
Jess — , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 14:36:00
I have been using your revision guides now for over 4 years now and am beginning my first piece of GCSE science coursework and am unable to find any books that can help! I am in desperate need of help if you have any publications on this please please let me know as I spent ages and ages looking for some but no such luck please answer. THANKS CGP you've helped in the past and I'm sure you wont let me down!
sana — , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 14:25:00
Hi I would just like to say that the CGP books are extremely good and I am currently doing my GCSE's and I would recommend the final exam book for science it is extremely good and you will pass your exams with it because it's that good.
hollie james — , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 13:25:00
Me again! I've just been reading the other comments and I totally agree with what loads of other people have been saying:- "WE NEED A LATIN REVISION GUIDE!" Ok, I think by now you realise we want a Latin Revision Guide (for GCSE). You could put all the verbs and things in, and little pratice chapters to translate and so on. Yes, it wouldn't be a very long guide but I bet it would really help. Also, people have been pointing out mistakes (not too nicely, some of them) and I'm a bit worried - are the mistakes still there/there at all? 'Cos I'm not going to be able to recognise them... Thanks a lot, Roz
Roz W — Notts , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 10:50:00
CGP is great! I've bought the Spanish and Maths GCSE Revision Guides, and they're really good.
Roz W — Notts , UK — 07 Jun 2003 at 10:26:00
Please could anyone write back to tell me the pass mark for getting an A* in maths at GCSE? the books are excellent and have really helped but I would love to know the grade boundaries?
CHARLOTTE — , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 22:11:00
I think your books are the worst Revision guides ever. What's the point of trying to make them funny when it never helps. I hate the comments and pictures its just PATHETIC. Please tell me why you can't be like all of the other revision Guides? as you didn't help me one bit!
Aaron — Hove , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 19:24:00
I am currently half way through my GCSE's and your revision guides have been a god send, I am reluctant to do any revision at all as I find it really difficult but the maths practice papers helped a lot and the French revision guide helped me loads, thanks CGP keep up the good work! I curse anyone that has anything bad to say about your books! PS how's about a psychology revision guide for A-level?
Lady Manners — Bakewell, Derbyshire , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 18:37:00
ike to continue this discussion further, please do so! I would LOVE to find out if you have a sense of humour or not! (All the best for the rest of your exams!)
Rose — , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 18:09:00
Your books are great and have really helped me with my revision - I actually do it! But, please, (pretty please with a cherry on top!) will you do AS level and A2 level books on more subjects (especially History, German, Economics and English Lit!) Else I am going to be totally messed when it comes to the big ones! PLEASE!
Rosemary Byfleet — Bruton, Somerset , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 17:46:00
Excellent provisions for teachers and this is especially good due to the price - thank you. Would be great if we could access information about the books from the order form page, eg, price, look of book etc. No need to reply to this if you are busy.
Fiona Boyte — East Ham, London , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 16:07:00
Please can we have a revision book for the new Applied Science GCSE course.
Tim — Chaucer School , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 15:09:00
I think that your books are great and that they really do help with revision. I'm doing my in year ten learning for GCSE'S at the moment and the books are fantastic! The jokes, although sometimes corny, are hilarious and really help break up the revision. I think anyone who doesn't like them should stuff themselves because they obviously don't know what they are talking about! One problem, though. In your books, you say that I can order a free catalogue of your GCSE books from the website - but
Dawn Challice — Blandford, Dorset , UK — 06 Jun 2003 at 12:36:00
Just thought I'd point out two misprints in time for the next edition of the Geography guide. On the quiz page for one of the sections there is a world map where you had to draw on the north/south (rich/poor) divide- from Turkey, under Kazakhstan, over Mongolia to the sea of Japan, you left the line on! Also, on the diagram of newly industrialised countries, Russia is still the USSR- you can tell because the 'stans about Afghanistan are missing- like Tajikistan, to name one of the more pronounceable. This may sound trivial, but it could warp some kids minds, maybe.
James O'Malley — Leicestershire , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 20:52:00
Hi CGP, I really love your books because they're so helpful and actually...they're quite interesting to read. I'm doing my GCSE's and I find the science books especially helpful, although could you please make a Latin and Greek book because some of our year are taking these subjects and it would be most helpful. Wish me luck everyone!
katie — warwickshire , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 20:51:00
Hi!! I think your books are great! They are packed with loads of useful information as well of having humour! Keep up the good work!
Lank — , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 20:40:00
I would like to make a suggestion to CGP that on their online revision guides for Science could they possible include a revision test for modular science as I am taking it and so are many other people and they would also find it useful to revise from. Thanks
charley — , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 19:24:00
Vicente Kewley — , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 19:21:00
Well I have to say I am impressed by your revision guides, but the only one I am not satisfy is the maths intermediate one, it told me how to only do certain things and not how to do some parts which were really relevant to the answer! Please sort it out before I do my a-levels next year!!
alison — bewdley, worcestershire , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 16:38:00
ome Krass joke. Im sorry to be so full on but your books are popular because of the escapism it offers, not the information.
Jordan Rendle — Stokenchurch, Bucks , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 16:30:00
"Frankly, most 16 year olds don't have a clue." My sister has one of these books of yours and actively makes no use of it, and this opening line of it made me realise why. You certainly know how to lose your audience...
Marnie — , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 15:34:00
I think the CGP books are really good and easy to study from. They helped me loads with my year 10 exams and I would advise anyone struggling with revision to use them.
Louise Rinn — hillingdon, middlesex , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 14:04:00
Why cant I learn geography! It wont let me pick geography to study
mark ackers — , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 12:21:00
I have found your website hugely helpful, especially because I was diagnosed clinically retarded at the age of eleven. Now I am up there getting the same marks as the rest of the Learning Support class-toppers. Thank you for every thing.
Willy Smith — Northampton , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 11:00:00
I know someone who hates your books, I think that they are mad because your books RULE REVISION
Aaron — , UK — 05 Jun 2003 at 08:07:00
CGP Revision Guides - other than 'megatastic' and 'top nana', what can I say? Thanks CGP for bringing humour into studying, especially for mature students doing it for fun! Keep up the good work!
Victoria — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 23:07:00
its really helpful. more competitions like the football one would be great. really helps you learn
Louise — Hartlepool , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 22:34:00
I don't think that anyone makes books like you at CGP. And that isn't a compliment. I bought your ICT revision guide for GCSE (as we are forced to take the useless subject for GCSE) and it was £2.50 too expensive and I wish I'd never bought it. It is very unhelpful, the jokes are corny and according to my results in the mocks (which I revised very painstakingly for) the information is inaccurate. I hope you're satisfied! You have caused an innocent, hard-working young girl to attain an F! An F!
Soniya Ganvir — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 20:57:00
I would just like to say that I passed my maths test, English test, science test and spelling test all thanks to reading your revision guides. I think they are a big help, they include everything that you need to pass tests, and they aren't revision guides that are boring and you want to put down after 5 minutes! I love reading your books and I think children now and of the future are lucky because they get to revise, read and have a laugh all at the same time! I think we are in a really lucky generation! Thank you for reading my comment, and best wishes in the future, love and luck to you always.
natalie bourne — Welling, Kent , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 20:42:00
CGP books are quite funny.
Apsi Witana — Stourbridge , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 20:20:00
Your ks3 books are great! Even though in my school we don't do sat's they have really helped me! Why don't you have books 4 yr 9's in general because I know that they would really help me in maths and history! Thanks loads CGP you are the best.
Ezzie — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 19:46:00
I found it a really good site
emma — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 19:31:00
Very Good. I like it.
Andy Miller — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 18:48:00
I really enjoy your books. But can you tell when you are going to release a GCSE systems and control book. I haven't learnt any thing in S&C in the last year. I know your books are useful but and I urgently require that book.
joe — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 18:42:00
THIS IS RUBBISH you should have revision on this it needs stuff on here from the books you have made some people need last minute revision and haven't managed to buy books, so come on here expecting all the notes and we need to know for the exam - but its not here!
Stephanie Bardell — Tadworth , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 17:53:00
Hiya, it's me again. Today I did my maths paper and found myself understanding almost every question- and that's because I read your revision guide an hour and a half before the exam. All of us were revising from CGP, except one or two people who were reading others.I presume that the latter were being entered for Foundation Tier. But thanks to CGP- I came, I saw, and I conquered!
Jan — London , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 16:27:00
I love your revision guides/books
priti — , UK — 04 Jun 2003 at 11:26:00
I'm sending last email on May 3rd 2003 to request a free catalogue but until today I haven't got any reply from you . Kindly revert back to me on my requirement I am interested with your science book and I would like to purchase many of your revision guide on level 5-7. Thanks for your kindly attention .
Keren Satyono — Jakarta , Indonesia — 04 Jun 2003 at 05:31:00
;mass" and that would be wrong - leaving the suggested answer "a" as correct! Hope this is helpful
Nigel Wilkinson B.Sc. Ph.D. MinstP CPhys — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 22:37:00
I think your books are really great but it would be even better if you did some triple science ones as well with loads of worked examples of calculations like how to find to mass of Al extracted from 1000g Al2O3 for example. Loads of people would get them especially at the grammar schools. We're not that bright and we could do with some help. cheers loads will
Will — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 21:17:00
Class books, I'm using them for maths which I struggle on and so far so good. My test is tomorrow so wish me luck.
Jason — Liverpool , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 21:12:00
Would you please publish books for GNVQ Health and social care.
Helen Hinton — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 19:03:00
I think these books really help you loads with exams, tests and SATS
Bethany Jo Clews — Church Eaton, Staffordshire , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 18:36:00
I'm sitting my GCSE's at the moment and I'd just like to say a huge THANK YOU to the people at CGP- without you guys I wouldn't understand science and maths half as much as I do now. You guys are fab!
Naomi — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 18:02:00
Are you ever going to do a revision guide for Latin?
sosie — birmingham , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 17:32:00
I love this website I am really interested in it
leanne — solihull , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 17:00:00
Hi, I have some of your books and I think that they are very helpful. On the website though could you add more detailed pages on science maybe? I know that this is time consuming but it would be very helpful to all of the exam candidates that use CGP books for revision!! Thank You
Steff — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 16:45:00
I'd just like to say that I agree with Jessica about the LATIN revision guide. I have been using the maths revision guides (foundation, intermediate and coursework) and I have found them very helpful. Here's hoping I do well tomorrow.
Corrine West — SWINDON , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 16:40:00
Latin and Classical Greek are the subjects where CGP is sorely anticipated- PLEASE make some revision guides for them so we can score 100 per cent on Germanicus and Piso. Your books are thrilling- I especially like the guy on the front, I suggest you call him Arthur. I also like the little details you've hidden in the Geography revision guide- like "I'm a fire starter" on one man's shirt and a cow in a tractor on a picture of a field. There's one thing I don't like however- you seem to have gone in favour of atheism in the section about evolution. Your outlook on the debate should have been unbiased.
Jan Rola-Rozycki — London , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 13:07:00
Your books are quite good but I thought the online revision was useless. I tried the practise questions for GCSE Maths and if you get a question wrong it just tells you the right answer, but not how you actually get it in the first place! What is the point in telling me I'm wrong but not helping me to get it right?! It didn't help me at all.
laura — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 12:55:00
Just want to say THANK YOU - the Biology Revision Guide helped me absolutely no end. I had forgotten so much and spent four days thoroughly reading and memorising - it definitely paid off. I was sure of every question in the exam, give or take one or two, whereas before I was hazy on everything! I'm predicted an A for Science and hopefully the revision guides I've got from you will help me achieve that goal. To those of you who are complaining about CGP's use of slang, get over it! That is the selling point of these books. If you don't like the conversational tone, get a different revision book - they all cover the same material anyway. Just get one that uses dull incomprehensible language if you feel that would be less 'patronising' for you.
Katy — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 12:30:00
I read the books and thanks to CGP books I have failed. I wasted my whole half term reading them and it was a waste of time!
RACH — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 11:12:00
This book has helped me with my GCSEs and would recommend this to anyone that will be doing their GCSEs in the future. thanks CGP books you've been great!
kelly cox — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 11:07:00
Well, while I think the online revision guide thing is a good idea, why don't you do it for A-Levels?
Mary Jane — , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 09:44:00
Your books really helped me out when I was pulled out of school for I was getting bullied it helped me rise in self-esteem so please print more copies of new books and I shall say thank you.
luke lawrence — grays, essex , UK — 03 Jun 2003 at 09:43:00
I think CGP provide good revision resources
paul newman — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 23:08:00
Hi I'd just like to say that all my revision has been made bearable over the past few months by reading the stupid messages on the back of the revision books. They're so cool!! You can now see that all the revision has gone to my head as I'm raving about revision guides. God help us all!
Jo — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 21:44:00
I took the GCSE Biology Exam today (2nd June) I am very angry as there were two questions I couldn't answer, because CGP left the answers out in the book. Question was, what enzymes are used to cut and add genes into plasmid (something along those lines...) Answer was Restriction Enzyme, and Lygase Enzyme. However, in the book, you put 'special enzymes are needed' Anyone else find this out?
lewis — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 21:30:00
Hey. I'd just like to congratulate you on all your great use of colour in your books and detailed content. Figuring that your books would be really helpful and useful in preparing for my science exams today, I read your biology, chemistry and physics books all weekend. Unfortunately, after spending 48 hours revising from them, none of the information in them actually applied to the exam this morning so I'd like to thank you for making me waste my weekend reading your books when I could have read better revision guides and maybe I would not have failed.
Jillian — Southampton , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 20:46:00
Hiya everyone! I've just done my GCSE Biology exam today and your books seemed to have helped, I hope! just wanted to say good luck to every one doing their GCSEs! And thanks CGP for making so great books!
Nic — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 19:49:00
This is a nice website to get revision aid.
Matt — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 19:47:00
I want to thank god because I know he will help me get a high mark in science , I have got an exam coming up on Tuesday and it's going to be hard. I pray that I get good. To tell you the truth the revision is confusing I rather use the notes I get from class. Just want to to say good job but try to make the test a bit easy please. It a lot to revise I believe we should stop science there no point of it.
Aaliyah — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 19:32:00
Hey guys, love the books, but PLEASE do a Latin revision guide. All these other Latin ones are terrible and incomprehensible. Think about it PLEASE. Any one who agrees write in.
Jessica — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 18:27:00
I am so proud of you because I was having the GCSE science exam today it helps me a lot that I couldn't tell I love you guys go on search the whole world, especially Africa, I mean east Africa good luck the rest of you, you can learn from me.
MUNa — , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 17:35:00
I wasn't very impressed with what I found on this website as there was no papers for me to practise on when I was preparing for my GCSE
sarah jayne griffiths — gowerton, swansea , UK — 02 Jun 2003 at 17:32:00
For the love of Pete, PLEASE get more AS/A2 revision guides out there! I'm 18 and about to sit my A2's and would be sleeping a lot easier had there been revision guides for P2, P3 and M2. Not to mention Biology. Save the poor souls who are taking things further - its dead hard and we need all the help we can get!

These books suck! Waste of money

I would just like to say that your CGP GCSE revision books are mixed in their effectiveness. The Physical Education is good and breaks the information down well. BUT the Double Science are appallingly basic and patronising. I feel I wasted almost 10 quid buying those books. They are too simplistic especially as it is for 'higher' candidates!

Great stuff. doing my GCSEs now and only using your groovy books.

I received a copy of your 'GCSE Mathematics - The Revision Guide - Intermediate Level' today. I was disappointed to see that graphs which appeared on pages 58 and 60 were described as being a Bar Chart on page 58 and then as a Histogram on page 60. Both of the graphs of continuous data are neither. They are Frequency Diagrams. Please consult the Framework for Maths at Key Stage 3 to bring yourselves up to date rather than continuing to confuse pupils with poor definitions. John Hackney General Adviser - Mathematics

Hi, Don't seem to be many posts from people doing their GCSE's. I wanted to give some positive feedback, as I've got my Geography Paper 1 exam tomorrow morning, and I've been busily near-cramming revision for the last few days (half-term was a blur :|). I found the Geography book very useful, beyond I must admit my first expectations were. When you first skim read the outside of the book some of the jokes and provided material may put you off, but the books are written in a comforting, informative, and coherent way. Id like to thank the CGP authors for their efforts, and no matter what I get finally, revising from the book definitely gave me a confidence boost! I hope everyone does well in their exams, I'm off to get some sleep now - wish me luck ;)

Thanks for making these great books CGP. But have you ever thought of doing a GCSE sociology revision guide? Just wondered... by the way I reckon your website is great!

I am a 15 year old student who's GCSEs are scheduled to begin tomorrow. Several days ago I purchased your revision book for the higher Biology paper and so far it has aided me quite well in my revision for this topic. However, after a certain amount of time reading the book, this question occurred to me; why on Earth did you feel the need to use such colloquial language throughout the book? I expect that it was in an attempt to connect with the target audience but sadly it failed, leaving the bitter taste of patronisation in my mouth. The disappointingly un-funny jokes and complete disregard for the proper implementation of the great English language as far as grammar and punctuation go, severely marred the helpfulness of said book, I only hope that this does not hinder my overall result. I really feel you should re-think this second-rate approach to assisting in the vital pre-exam learning process.

I love your CGP books, I used them for my Key Stage 2 sats and got outstanding results. Level 5's for all my subjects. I'd like to say a huge thank you for all the help. And I will be using your books to help me with my Key stage 3 sats. I will definitely recommend your books to as many people as I can!

Hey CGP! My school gives us some of your books, and because its so stingy (!) we have the very earliest science ones. Who would've thought CGP came from such modest, monotone, and boring roots! lol! At least you've improved. Now to the point: PLEASE MAKE A LATIN GCSE REVISION BOOK! For those of us who wanted to be all clever (hah!) and do Latin, and only now realise what s*** they've gotten themselves into! PLEASE?! I'm doing my GCSE next year, so it would be realy helpful for me...

Hi, i am currently studying for my GCSE exams. I have many of your revision guides, which are very useful. However, it's sometimes a little boring just revising from books and I think that if you were to set up an interactive website that people could revise from it would be very useful.
sarah — , UK — 01 Jun 2003 at 14:33:00
I have all the books, they are great, easy to read and to understand, well done! but the end of section summary questions take ages to do...
