Guestbook Archive - February 2008

Hi. My name is Caitlin from Birmingham - ya books are good!

Caitlin — Birmingham, United Kingdom — 28 Feb 2008 at 20:23:57

Hey CGP. I have used all of your Rrevision Guides and the only one I was disappointed with was the Science one. However, Maths and English were amazing. Thankyou!!

Mollie — Canterbury, United Kingdom — 28 Feb 2008 at 16:31:14

Hi - I'm not Amy the singer - I'm just regular Amy. I am truly disappointed in your books, as they seem to have declined over the years. But, anyway, they used to be quite good - what's happened CGP?

Amy Winehouse — , United Kingdom — 27 Feb 2008 at 20:58:54

Guestbook Editor: Oh no! We're sorry to hear that you feel disappointed. We actually work really hard to stay true to the winning style we started with all those years ago. If there's anything specific you think we should look at, please do let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Education is the key of life. So we should be concentrating and have more interest in education than unimportant things like playing consoles. I'm not saying we shouldn't play Playstations I'm just saying spend more time on studying.

(Commenting on book EMAP34, KS3 English SATs Practice Papers incl Much Ado About Nothing - 2008

Could you please tell me what papers these contain because the website dosen't tell me. I have some of the Practice Papers, so I wouldn't want to buy them again. Thank you!

Lisa — St Johns Wood, United Kingdom — 27 Feb 2008 at 20:03:02

Guestbook Editor: Not a problem - this pack contains three full sets of reading and writing papers covering the 2008 SATS set scenes for Much Ado About Nothing. These are: Act 4, scene 1, lines 196 - 325 and Act 5, scene 4, the whole scene. We hope this helps!

Great book. On Monday I've got my Science modules. Please pray I get A* with the help of your book.

Ram — London, United Kingdom — 27 Feb 2008 at 20:00:49

Hi. I'm just wondering, do you have answers for the Study Guide summary questions? Another idea is to bring out a CGP SATS revision game on DS - like brain training! Thanks.

Heather — Lancashire, United Kingdom — 27 Feb 2008 at 18:54:52

Guestbook Editor: What a fab idea! We'll bear it in mind. As for the answers to the Revision Summaries — you'll find them in the notes for each topic. The idea is that this will make you look back over everything, so you'll learn it twice as well!

I'm having lots of tests and you have been really helpful. Thank u.

Ilham — London, United Kingdom — 27 Feb 2008 at 18:53:52

Hello. My teacher has given me a different Science book and study book (not made by your company) and they're really confusing. But when I read your Science The Important Bits it makes it really understandable. What would I do without you?!

Anon — Chocolate Factory, Tunisia — 27 Feb 2008 at 17:04:56

Have just used your website for the first time to order Key Stage Two books. I was really impressed with how easy the site was to use. Look forward to receiving the books.

Sarah — Norwich, United Kingdom — 27 Feb 2008 at 13:24:47

Schools shouldn't make kids pay for these books.

Laura — England, United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 23:27:27

This book is really good. It's helped me so much!

Amym — Cholchster, United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 19:42:38

Hello. My daughter is extremely happy with your website, as she is having a test tommorow and your input has been helpful. We must get a couple of your books!!!

Nikky — , United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 19:33:32

I am studying for a test and this really helped a lot more than the other websites - so thanks!

Me — , United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 19:31:10

Very smooth ordering. If the delivery is the same, then the service will have been excellent. Thank you.

Mrs M L Stafford-Smith — Chelmsford, United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 17:36:53

Hi. These revision books are really good, they are helping me for school.

Sophie Capel — London, United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 17:02:06

I think your books are great!

Chloe — Manchester, United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 16:46:10

I am very disappointed in your GCSE revision books. The way they are written is terrible. I spotted quite a few errors in your Biology book, including some grammar and meaning. I have decided not to use your books for my revision and have chosen a different company's instead. A Disappointed Student.

O.W. — , United Kingdom — 26 Feb 2008 at 12:51:28

Guestbook Editor: We're really sorry to hear that you've been disappointed by our books. We know that our style won't be everyone's cup of tea, but we'd hate to think there were any errors in our books. We'd be really greatful if you'd let us know some more details along with your email address and we'll look into it and get back to you. Thank you!

I think the books are great, but the Science modular tests are more like English tests rather than Science tests. I say this because there is often more than one answer to a question and the wording is very tricky. Great books though. Thanks.

Jim — , United Kingdom — 25 Feb 2008 at 19:59:32

It would help if you had more than one thing on algebra. I'm so dissapointed and I'm supposed to revise for my test tomorrow. OMG you don't help much. If I get a low mark I'm blaming you. And my rich Daddy won't be very pleased.

Megan — Darwen, United Kingdom — 25 Feb 2008 at 17:52:34

Guestbook Editor: Oh dear, we're sorry if you think we've let you down. We can only think you're referring to the interactive stuff on our website because our books have lots of lovely algebra revision notes in them. Perhaps you could have a look in them next time and not leave it quite so late to revise — just an idea!

Last year I revised for my KS2 SATS using your books and I got all level 5As and my Maths score was 96/100 - one of the highest in the country.

Ashley — Leicester, United Kingdom — 25 Feb 2008 at 16:01:21

Umm cool!

Emily — Chard, United Kingdom — 25 Feb 2008 at 09:55:13

I hate my school so much - they don't even give us books. But when I first heard of your books (about 4 years ago) I was astonished. They helped me so much, and I am now on my way to practising Veterinary Science. I'm in Year 12, and got 9 A*s and 3 As. Thank you CGP for your help.

John Winehouse — Broxton, United Kingdom — 24 Feb 2008 at 21:41:39

I have got all your books for my GCSEs except for Latin. I was wondering if you are planning on doing a Latin book because I find the rest really good and extremely easy to learn from and it would be great if you could do one. Thanks for the help I have already got.

Anu — Cambridge, United Kingdom — 24 Feb 2008 at 20:13:31

Guestbook Editor: We're really pleased you like our books so much. Sorry, but we don't have any plans to make a GCSE Latin book just yet. We'll add it to our list for future projects though. Good luck with your exams!

Hi! Love the books, but would it be possible to do a GCSE Italian one and a GCSE Mandarin one, because I am doing both of these subjects and they would be of enormous help.

James — Berkhamsted, United Kingdom — 24 Feb 2008 at 18:17:18

There isn't a site map, or search toolbar. These would really help as I find it confusing trying to find your way around.

Gabi — Bamford, United Kingdom — 24 Feb 2008 at 16:18:04

Hi. Both staff and pupils at my school find your KS2 Science books fabulous. Topics are so clearly put across that the concepts are easily understood. The humourous approach is also a winner. Pity they are now in black and white.

Leo — Gibraltar, Gibraltar — 24 Feb 2008 at 13:33:04

Found these books really helpful. A lot different to those I have found in the past. They made revising for my SATS easy! Thank you!

Imogen — Manchester, United Kingdom — 24 Feb 2008 at 12:51:22

Hi everyone at CGP. I think CGP do a great range of books. I am in Year nine and soon to be doing my SATS. Their books are really good. Everyone should order them.

Dannika — London, United Kingdom — 24 Feb 2008 at 11:59:18

I think your books are really great! They really help you with your revision - it is actually more fun than usual!

Humairaa — Leicester, United Kingdom — 23 Feb 2008 at 16:34:40

These have really helped me. Thanx!

Latifa — Birmingham, United Kingdom — 23 Feb 2008 at 15:28:43

I'm in Year 11. Just like to say thank u for the quick delivery of books, excellent service.

(Commenting on book ESTT32, KS3 English Shakespeare Text Guide - The Tempest - 2008

I'm a 14-year-old girl preparing for my SATS and have found this book very useful. With its handy hints and amusing pictures, the Tempest is now not another Shakespeare play that the youth don't understand, but an exciting, easy way to understand Shakespeare's work.

Ellis Reynolds — Southend-On-Sea, United Kingdom — 23 Feb 2008 at 13:02:44

I love CGP books. They are the best books in the world. My best one is English.

Galaly — Barking, United Kingdom — 22 Feb 2008 at 18:50:26

I want to let you know that I'm doing my GCSEs and I find your books really helpful, so thank u! :D But, since I'm studying Art and Welsh for GCSE, could you please consider making books about these subjects? Many thanks.

Amy Rose — Cardiff, United Kingdom — 22 Feb 2008 at 17:49:48

Guestbook Editor: We're glad to hear our books are really helpful for you. We've no plans to make books for GCSE Art and Welsh at the moment, but we'll definitely bear your sugestion in mind for the future.

I just love all that CGP offers. I'm currently revising for my KS3 exams and I find the books really resourceful and interesting. They're simply GREAT!

Lisa — London, United Kingdom — 22 Feb 2008 at 16:39:49

Fantastic service and so quick! I wish all companies were as good as you! Thank you!

Clare Diston — Cambridge, United Kingdom — 22 Feb 2008 at 11:04:52

OMG - your books really helped me on my Science. I'm in Year 6 and I have got my SATS in a few months. Your book has really helped me.

Leona — Leeds, United Kingdom — 22 Feb 2008 at 09:50:55

I like the CGP books, they are fun. My best book is English.

Stephen — Watford, United Kingdom — 21 Feb 2008 at 17:31:18

It would be good if in GCSE there was a German section. Could that be possible?

— , United Kingdom — 21 Feb 2008 at 17:23:14

Guestbook Editor: We've got a treat for you — we already have some GCSE German products! Just have a look at our Product Range pages, under GCSE - Languages - German. Hope they're what you're looking for!

I've been ordering from CGP for years to help my class prepare for the SATS - these books really help; they're great value, and the service is EXCELLENT - they arrive sometimes the next day. Keep up the great work!

Kath Crolla — Long Eaton, United Kingdom — 21 Feb 2008 at 14:53:50

I love this CGP website, but I would like the games to be better.

Kola — Kent, United Kingdom — 20 Feb 2008 at 21:18:39

The books are exellent. They have helped me a lot in my subjects! The thing is that there should be like virtual books and workborks you can look at on the internet to help you.

Jarmima — Keighley, United Kingdom — 20 Feb 2008 at 19:51:42

Hi. I am doing my SATS this year and CGP books are helping me a lot in my Science and Maths. I got these two books from school and every night I look at them - Wow!

Sophia — Livepool, United Kingdom — 20 Feb 2008 at 16:08:05

I am in Yr 6 and I have had these books and the test papers and they have helped me improve a lot at school.

Ellie — Romford, United Kingdom — 19 Feb 2008 at 20:02:03

Hello. I'm in Year 11 (my very important GCSE year). I have a maths module coming up and I have been flicking through some of your pages and they have been really helpful. I would just like to say thank you and keep up the good work =]

Cat — Dungannon, United Kingdom — 19 Feb 2008 at 17:40:35

Why aren't you bringing out any new test papers???

Faiyaz — Dubai, United Arab Emirates — 19 Feb 2008 at 17:30:15

Guestbook Editor: We published some fab new Practice Papers in January for lots of subjects. You can have a look at our 2008 Practice Papers by choosing your Key Stage, Subject and then Practice Papers on our Product Range pages. Hope you like them!

I am in Yr 9 at the moment and I am reading the Shakespeare Revision Guide. My school uses these books because they say that they are extremely helpful when it comes to revising, becuse you understand that no 12 year old wants to revise from a boring book. So you add funny / sarcastic comments in them to make them more enjoyable! I think it's great! But I think that on your website you should have a place where you can read the Revision Guides off the computer, because some people and schools can't get hold of the books or afford them!!!

Jamie Lee Taylor — Bristol, United Kingdom — 18 Feb 2008 at 15:11:09

Guestbook Editor: We're really glad you like our jokes — can you believe some people don't??? We can see your point about the website too, but it's not something we're planning at the moment. But don't worry... it's really easy to get hold of our books, either online or by calling 0800 1712 712, and we have especially low prices for schools.

I'm a student in Yr 6 and revising for my SATS. Me and my Nan just went to town to get your Maths and English books. I haven't looked at them yet, but my grandad has! I love your books so far. Gemma xxx

Gemma — Portsmouth, United Kingdom — 18 Feb 2008 at 13:48:42

Your books have made me smart again. CGP your books are great , I mean, if I hadn't bought your books I properly would have failed.

Ruth — London, United Kingdom — 18 Feb 2008 at 12:46:27

It is great and you should carry on like this. Very well done and the games are excellent.

Nadupilayarapayanaliapaman — Barnet, United Kingdom — 17 Feb 2008 at 12:59:30

Cool. I'm a student in Year Six and am trying to get through my SATS. I find ur books really helpful.

Beth — , United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2008 at 19:46:52

Thanks CGP. You helped me get straight A*s. So THANKS A MILLION.

Sophie — , United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2008 at 18:02:16

Hi. I go to a very run-down school. I'm in Year 10 and I really want to become a journalist - not any journalist, but the best I tell you. And I think that if I only relied on my school's textbooks, my dream would be so far away - the word journalist would sound so hollow indeed. If it wasn't for CGP, I wouldn't be able to write such vocabulary, and I really, truly from the bottom of my heart thank you. Thank you CGP.

Joel Pope — Pinner, London, United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2008 at 16:16:16

A quick and easy way to order - Thanks! These are fabulous books and I use them all the time!

I would like to order this book.

zahra asghari — luton, United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2008 at 11:52:27

Guestbook Editor: ...and we'd love to get one to you quick smart! You can either register with us and order online or just give us a call on 0800 1712 712 and we'll sort out the details for you. Easy-peasy!

As a parent who has a great interest in supporting my children at home, it would be wonderful to have the option to purchase these books, paper based or online. Once the authorisation has gone through, at that point customers would receive an email reminding them of their purchase and a link that would activate our online book which could be downloaded.

Susan — Upper Clapton, United Kingdom — 16 Feb 2008 at 08:45:24

Guestbook Editor: That sounds like a really good idea. We're planning to have lots more interactive stuff online in the not too distant future — so we'll definitely bear your comments in mind.

Just used your website - talk about easy-peasy! Well done! Like the revision guides for Business & ICT - great for the kids and so user-friendly. Thank you.

Very quick and efficient method of ordering school resources. Items easy to find. Thanks.

Lyn Saunders — Hayling Island, United Kingdom — 14 Feb 2008 at 09:48:38

CGP books are amazing! They really, really help me revise. However, I do have one criticism... You don't sell Revision Guides for most of the GCSEs I am studying. These are Law, Sociology and Catering. Please, Please, Please could you make these? You Rock!

Chelsie — London, United Kingdom — 13 Feb 2008 at 20:44:16

Guestbook Editor: We're really glad our books have been so helpful for you and we're very sorry we haven't got any for the subjects you're taking at GCSE level. We'll definitely add them to our list for future projects. Good luck with your courses!

I just want to tell you some thing... that you are doing an excellent job. Keep it up !!! Then you will become more famous. By the way, you are famous already. KEEP GOING WITH ALL THOSE EXCELENT IDEAS!!!

Nawrin — England, United Kingdom — 13 Feb 2008 at 18:29:39

This book is really clear. I can understand the words. If you don't know a word you can find out, because CGP explains it. I really love your books, I think they're the best ever revision and practice SATS books I've ever read. Thanks.

Nawrin — England, United Kingdom — 13 Feb 2008 at 18:27:28

King — London, United Kingdom — 13 Feb 2008 at 11:11:29

I really like your Maths book. My teacher at school recommended it to the class, so I thought I would give it a try. I am 11 years old and I am having my SATS in May, so this book is very helpful. I am very pleased that CGP have made this book and I hope they make loads more!

Sam — Stockport, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2008 at 18:50:05

Tim — Cambridge, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2008 at 18:10:09

Hi. I have got a few CGP books to help me for my SATS test in May. They really helped me and I am really lucky to have a chance to read such good and helpful books.

Sarah — London, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2008 at 14:29:29

Have you thought about an interactive programme on your website where people can revise? I like your books and was wondering if you do have interactive learning? But your books are wonderful and have been a treat to learn from. Thank you!

Yamuna — Staines, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2008 at 13:56:09

Guestbook Editor: Why, thank you! And thanks for your suggestion too. We'd love to have more interactive stuff for you keen students and it's something we are working on. So keep your eyes peeled!

Hi, I would like to say that CGP books were a great help for my 11+ and I hope they will be great for my SATS as well. At school I am in the top sets for Maths, English and Science. And I say it's all because of CGP books -Many thanks! P.S. Your Practice Papers are a great help.

Ramkali — Birmingham, United Kingdom — 12 Feb 2008 at 12:46:07

The books are great. Because I revise with them, I put my hand up in class more.

Rabea — Morden, United Kingdom — 11 Feb 2008 at 19:20:23

Chenelle — Nottingham, United Kingdom — 11 Feb 2008 at 18:25:12

I think that CGP books are an excellent way of revising. Our teacher at our school gave us some to read and they are really funny and easy to understand! Thank You.

Charlotte — Birmingham, United Kingdom — 11 Feb 2008 at 16:36:38

Your GCSE French guide really helped me! We had a quick French test today and my teacher was giving us our approximate marks (she hadn''t fully marked them yet) and she said she could see 33/35 on mine. Thanks ;)

George — Belfast , United Kingdom — 11 Feb 2008 at 15:46:45

I <3 CGP! Only thing is, I could really do with one for OCR A-level modules like FP4... XD.

Mike Day — , United Kingdom — 11 Feb 2008 at 12:18:01

I really like all your books. They're really funny and make your learning time into laughter time. Hopefully, this will be proved when I do my SATS and they give me triple 5!

I'm in Year 6. Your books are cool and have the right balance of funny and educational. The only thing I would say though is that you should have French books for KS2, cos I do French and it would be really helpful! Thanks.

Clo — Swindon, United Kingdom — 09 Feb 2008 at 16:17:54

These revison books helped me do so well in my SATS.

Klair — Swindon, United Kingdom — 09 Feb 2008 at 14:12:05

Maria Lancaster — Kensington-London, United Kingdom — 07 Feb 2008 at 19:11:26

I love your Revision Guides! They're really great for learning the essentials and have helped me VERY much with my GCSE exams so far. They are quite humorous, which I love. I hope they continue to help me, at least until I have finished all my GCSE examinations. However, I have one question. What is with the girl's underarm hair and cut-open stomach on the back of the Geography revision guide?

Sam — Walsall, United Kingdom — 07 Feb 2008 at 17:22:36

Guestbook Editor: CGP's random sense of humour strikes again! You think that's odd... you should see some of the things that don't get put in the books!!! We're very glad you like our books so much though.

(Commenting on book PAR42, GCSE Physics AQA Revision Guide

Excellent resources! Have used the Revision Guide and the Workbook together for a 'Fast Track' GCSE group, attempting the 'Triple Science' option, within a 2 subject slot! The Guide and Workbook have helped me to force the pace. The results from the 1st module were very good indeed! (Just now waiting for the results of the second!) The pupils regard the materials highly, and the price point is such that I could afford to fund them from my budget. Highly recommended!

Geoff Harman — Stamford, United Kingdom — 07 Feb 2008 at 10:32:30

Hey, your revision books are amazing. They are a great help for me, as I am revising for my GCSEs. I have the Lord Of The Flies Revision Guide, I haven't understood the book very well, but with your Revision Guide it's really easy! And I have an exam on Lord Of The Flies and it is 40% of my marks. I just want to say a thank-you to you all. And I know it's VERY late, but a thank-you for my work experience as well. It was WAY better than school! So, thank-you all at CGP.

Guestbook Editor: Well... you could try bribery, or a student revolt! But if all else fails, maybe just buy a few from the website and do them in secret. Or, maybe find a new school where the teachers love our books as much as you do. Good luck!

I love the website, but it would be better if you had a bit where you can revise.

It's a long time since I took my O'Level Maths and the books are a great help in reminding me when my 11 and 14 year olds ask for help with their homework - highly recommended.

No offence, but the books are jam packed and confusing. And the only advice there is, is to learn it, cover it and scribble it down. They're also a bit cheesey.

Guestbook Editor: We're really sorry that you don't like our books. We know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but most people do seem to like them. We wish you the best of luck with your studies and hope you find some books that suit you better very soon.

I really enjoy reading the study books and I also got 5c in English and 3c in Maths :)

Thank you. I found this website very easy to use and the instructions were clear and concise.

With so many types of Maths courses, it would have been useful if all Revision Guides and Workbooks were grouped together, i.e. Generic / Foundation / Higher / 2008 / 2009.

Guestbook Editor: Thank you for the suggestion. We're always looking for ways to improve the website, so we'll definitely bear your comments in mind.

I think the revision guides are good because they are helping me with my KS2 sats as I only got 24 out of 40 in my maths test and you need 32 to get a level 5

demi lee — portsmouth, United Kingdom — 04 Feb 2008 at 19:32:37

The cgp books are very useful and help me a lot, the website is also very good.
The books are good because they go all the way up 2 A levels.

rhianna — clevedon, United Kingdom — 04 Feb 2008 at 17:50:21

On your pages for KS3 sats they have "em" instead of them. No wonder children start to write in text language in exam if the revision guides their parents are buying are using text language.

it is great and helpful

I really like your books and I find them really handy but I was just wondering whether you could do a GCSE Latin revision Guide. I haven''t found one anywhere else and would really like one because your books help me loads. I would never have got to top set Maths without them.

Good books. Helped me get A* in all the subjects. Going to continue using these books. Told all my family.

Steph Biggin — Southsea, United Kingdom — 02 Feb 2008 at 11:45:17

Your books are fantastic, but my school wouldn't order them for us (even if we paid) so I had to pay and extra £2 per book, which is quite a lot for us kids... Would you think about lowering the price for private customers?

Rachel — England, United Kingdom — 02 Feb 2008 at 09:37:40

Your books are the best revision books, because basically, if you learn everything in the books then you''re guaranteed to get the best marks possible. Tried and tested. :)

Cool CGP books they really helped me.

Rebecca — London, United Kingdom — 01 Feb 2008 at 20:14:00

I've just read your intro to the KS2 science book my son brought home today.
It is such a piece of self indulgent marketing. Why must my child read that his education is being brought to him at the 'cheapest possible prices?'
Keep this diatribe to the people you are selling to, not the innocents you are trying to educate...

Griffojack — Birkenhead, United Kingdom — 01 Feb 2008 at 18:50:19

Alot of my daughter''s GCSEs are with the EDEXCEL exam board and not AQA or OCR. Do your guides cover this exam board ?

Catherine Pearce — Maidstone , United Kingdom — 01 Feb 2008 at 14:51:19

Guestbook Editor: All of our books are suitable for all exam boards, unless it says otherwise on the cover or our website. For GCSE Maths and Science we have a large range of books that are written specifically for Edexcel — they should be just the ticket. If you need any help choosing the right books just give us a ring or send an email and we'll make sure you get what you need.

I really like your books, it is like learning at school!
