Guestbook Archive - January 2014

For tea, I will mostly be having deep fried Mars Bars and custard.

Hilary — Chippenham, United Kingdom — 30 Jan 2014 at 15:56:00

Guestbook Editor: Don't forget to leave some room for dessert.

I absolutely love your books - can you do IGCSE and Edexcel English as well please?!! I am a tutor :)

Mandy Archer — Plymouth, United Kingdom — 30 Jan 2014 at 10:27:17

It's simple and cheap. It also explains it very well.

Nzinga B — Sheffield, United Kingdom — 28 Jan 2014 at 18:12:42

Hi. At the moment I am still completely ecstatic from receiving an A* in my controlled assessment for English Literature. I had to compare Macbeth with a few poems - the revision guide for English made the hard parts easy and the easy parts even easier! Thanks very much.

aaron — london, United Kingdom — 26 Jan 2014 at 19:21:17

Guestbook Editor: You're welcome. Glad we could contribute to your ecstasy.

Just ordered a whole load of books as the ones we already have are absolutely brilliant and got a wonderful discount! Now all I need is something to make my son actually do the work!

Vicki Meacham — Bicknor, United Kingdom — 26 Jan 2014 at 18:38:44

I love CGP books! Just wanted to know if there are more KS3 English workbooks.

Demay. — Accra, Ghana — 26 Jan 2014 at 17:15:26

Guestbook Editor: Hello — we've just run out of stock of our current KS3 English Workbook, unfortunately. The good news is that there's a brand new edition coming soon, matched the the new KS3 Curriculum that starts in September. Defintely worth waiting for.

love these books - all teachers and parents should have them! Great idea to have the English SPG dvd for using with the class to test each other - they love competition!

anna morozgalska — twickenham, United Kingdom — 26 Jan 2014 at 13:04:52

I'm a Year 6 teacher - your SATs buster books and sample SATs test are really, really useful in class and for boosters classes and home life too.
I've just ordered a lot of books and couldn't believe how much I got for my money!

Katie — Nuneaton, United Kingdom — 25 Jan 2014 at 14:40:44

Guestbook Editor: I had a similar experience in a café recently — I ordered a chicken salad and couldn't believe how much chicken was involved. To be honest, it was a bit too much. Luckily, there's no such thing as too much SATS preparation, so you'll never feel over-full after a generous helping of CGP books.

I have no idea what I'm talking about. Sorry.

(Commenting on book MERI43, Edexcel Certificate / International GCSE Maths Revision Guide with online edition (A*-G)

This book was a total lifesaver. My maths is a bit rusty and I'm sure I couldn't have got my son through IGCSE maths without this revision guide and the accompanying workbook. Wonderfully clear, much better than the standard textbook.

Lynn Hand — Edinburgh, United Kingdom — 24 Jan 2014 at 17:06:56

Absolutely first class service. Brilliant study guides.

Ruth — Ilkley, United Kingdom — 24 Jan 2014 at 13:34:27

Amazing! really good

Tasnima — London, United Kingdom — 23 Jan 2014 at 18:38:24

I love your books and I'm certain that it was as a result of buying them that I achieved such a high GCSE profile last year. I have resorted to buying more of your books to get me through college this year but worry that there currently aren't any for AQA further maths modules nor any computing revision guides, especially WJEC computing a level as there are very few resources available. Is it likely that either of these books are going to be developed in the near future?

Alex — Manchester, United Kingdom — 22 Jan 2014 at 18:43:04

Guestbook Editor: I don't think we're working on either of these A-Level subjects at the moment, I'm afraid. (We're very busy with all sorts of other projects, but there are just so many courses out there...) Really pleased that we could help you out with your GCSEs, though.

Thank you to the ladies answering the phone (0870) in Customer Services today. A bit anxious about my home delivery with FedEx since this is my first order ever, but the ladies were very helpful, patient and professional.

Sylvie — uxbridge, United Kingdom — 21 Jan 2014 at 16:26:13

As a parent who sometimes struggles when it comes to supporting my children with their homework, your books are amazing... full of clear, child friendly, and the helpful information is easy to follow and understand (it's even taught me a few things I didn't know!).....

First purchased your books through my son's school when he was doing his Year 6 SATs. I'm now purchasing your books for his GCSEs and the KS2 books have been passed down to his younger brother. Would not hesitate to recommend your books to anyone. A big THANKYOU to you.

Jo — Nottingham, United Kingdom — 21 Jan 2014 at 14:55:32

Guestbook Editor: Thanks — glad you've found the books helpful.

Just ordered 2 AS Level books as I truly believe that without all the CGP books my son would not have achieved his 11 A*-C in his GCSE's last year. Brilliant books thank-you and fingers crossed for his AS results.

Lorraine — Tamworth, United Kingdom — 21 Jan 2014 at 10:41:03

Brilliant books and lots of fun learning.
For tea today I will be eating lots of chocolate. yum yum.

elaine — whitstable, United Kingdom — 20 Jan 2014 at 13:59:39

VERY GOOD BOOKS AND WORTH THE PRICE!

Kamila — Northamptonshire, United Kingdom — 17 Jan 2014 at 15:33:59

This website is fantastic and so are the books! Very funny jokes that make you want to study more and buy more CGP books!

Kimberley — Kings Lynn, United Kingdom — 16 Jan 2014 at 19:15:21

Hello, just wanted to pop and just say YOU ARE A GENIUS plus i like you humour, especially the joke in the biology book DNA and at the end you commented 'just blame it on your twin' so that's what i did and it worked. thanx for your advice

btw how long do you take to reply to a comment because it would be nice to know

p.s. what's your name? are the initials cgp? if it is what does it stand for?

Mariyam — Bradford, United Kingdom — 15 Jan 2014 at 20:41:52

Guestbook Editor: Hello — thanks for your comments. CGP is the name of our company: it stands for Coordination Group Publications, excitingly. Quite a lot of people work for CGP, each with their own unique sense of humour (the names of the writers and editors are listed at the front of each of our books). If you added all our IQs together, we probably would just about qualify as a genius. But we'd have a very muddled collective personality.

Hello!
I would just like to say, I have 2 science books (workbook and revision guide) and 1 maths - and it has really made a difference.
Before I revised with your book, I didn't do well in my Science test, when I was told we would have a re-test, I used this book, and it helped so much!
In my re-test, I moved up four grades thanks to revising with this book everyday!
Thankyou, hopefully I'll do this well everytime now ^.^

Jenni — Little Whinning, United Kingdom — 15 Jan 2014 at 20:18:27

as edexcel history books are very limited - you do not have all the topics.
You do not have any a2 history books but you do have a2 geography. why is this? is there any chance of a2 history books being released soon?

A.i — ilford, United Kingdom — 15 Jan 2014 at 19:38:58

Guestbook Editor: Sorry about the limited choice of AS History books. If memory serves, there are about 35 possible topic options for Edexcel AS History, so we had to limit ourselves to the ones taken by the most students. We'd probably have had to give up making books for other subjects if we hadn't.

It's a similar situation with A2, in that there are so many topics to choose from that it's hard to make books that'll be helpful to everyone. That's not to say that we won't make A2 History books... just that we haven't done it yet. (A2 Geography is a fairly recent addition to our range — it took us years to make that one, so there's hope for History yet.)

This books are really good they helped me to stay at level 5

Rennae — Thornton Heath, United Kingdom — 15 Jan 2014 at 17:35:45

I'm a very experienced computer user, but your website is one of the most frustrating ones I have ever come across when making (trying to make) a purchase!!

1 - don't use the prompt parameter but retype the data.
2 - when a change has been made go right back to the start of the form and check for flagged up error warning details
3 - better still, phone in your order!

The good news is I am very impressed with the quality of these books

Peter Moore — Martlesham, United Kingdom — 15 Jan 2014 at 12:29:35

Guestbook Editor: Apologies for the frustration — we'll admit that our website is currently a fairly safe distance away from the cutting-edge, but it gets the job done. And as you mention in point 3, we've got a team of friendly people on the end of the phone (or email) if you're having problems.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH FANTASTIC QUALITY OF THE MATH BOOKS

Loyd — London, United Kingdom — 14 Jan 2014 at 15:54:26

Fantastic quality, the whole team should be proud! These books were extremely useful during revision, particularly Mathematics and the three sciences for IGCSE!

Giorgio Rubbo — Stamford, United Kingdom — 13 Jan 2014 at 20:30:33

Just want to say thank you! I got A's in my English literature and language GCSE and my Geography GCSE because of your revision guides... something I never thought possible! Just ordered my As revision guides for psychology, geography and maths. Thanks again :)

Isabel — Poole, United Kingdom — 13 Jan 2014 at 18:48:56

this book is so boring like a ****

mr bean — liverpool, United Kingdom — 13 Jan 2014 at 17:23:10

Guestbook Editor: (Please insert the most boring four-letter item you can think of into the space provided.)

Very good quality of books. I just wondered if it is possible that there could be a print feature as I want to print pages off but currently that isn't possible. Thank you.

Ellen Stevens — Rochester, United Kingdom — 13 Jan 2014 at 13:50:24

Hi I love your books but I'm disappointed there isn't an Edexcel GCSE Health and Social Care one and an AQA level 2 Further Maths one :( is there likely to be either soon? Please help me and other students who are currently panicking about these exams :(

Victoria — Sunderland, United Kingdom — 12 Jan 2014 at 10:30:03

Guestbook Editor: Let's see. I've been picking up some good vibrations about AQA Level 2 Further Maths, so that's a definite possibility at some point. GCSE Health and Social Care... not sure, sorry. Maybe?

The Year 6 Reading Comprehension books are brilliant! PLEASE can you do them for Years 3, 4, and 5 too? Thank you!

Diana — Oxford, United Kingdom — 09 Jan 2014 at 19:39:00

Tonita Holloway — Wymondham, United Kingdom — 08 Jan 2014 at 11:36:13

I was unable to find required books through bookshops and so decided to order direct from CGP.
I was very pleased and impressed by fast delivery of order, thanks.

Pam Jones — Croydon, United Kingdom — 07 Jan 2014 at 13:07:38
