Job Description — Painter & Decorator


At CGP we obsess about high standards across the whole company, not just our books and digital products. We take particular pride in looking after our four operational sites and continuous re-decoration is always needed. Our private residences, which include period properties and guest rooms, need special care and attention too.

In this role you’ll be part of our Estates team. Its main aim is to make sure our high standards are applied to the working environment for over 200 employees, as well as for members of our private Leisure Club and Golf Course. The role is full time – 40 hours per week, and flexibility will be required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Duties will vary greatly depending on which property you’re working on so we’re looking for a wide range of skills, not just basic painting & decorating experience. We will also expect you to be knowledgeable about the appropriate materials to use for each task to ensure the quality of the finished job meets expectations. The high standard of your workmanship will be unquestionable.

Providing great customer service should come naturally to you, whatever site you are working on. You’ll also check requirements have been met satisfactorily at the conclusion of a project or piece of work. You’ll be knowledgeable about H&S requirements and will approach safety in a pragmatic and sensible way.

Key Attributes

Highly skilled, and ideally with 5+ years’ experience in painting and decorating, you’ll have a mature outlook and take great personal pride in your work. You’ll be a flexible and positive individual who is just as comfortable working on your own as being part of a team. Happy to work across different sites, you’ll be:

As you’ll be working across various sites, a driving licence is essential.
