CGP has grown strongly to become the nation’s best-selling Educational Publisher, despatching over 13 million books each year from our Cumbrian warehouse.  We now need more great people to join our Millom Operations team and help us keep up with the increasing demand for our books. 

From the second a customer places an order to the next day when it arrives at their door, we put 100% effort into making every process in our warehouse ever more efficient.  To succeed in these pick, pack and despatch roles, you’ll need to have lots of drive and stamina (you’ll be on your feet for 8 hour shifts after all) and be:

  • Bright and positive with a good eye for detail
  • A hard worker with great teamwork skills
  • Comfortable with admin

Flexibility is key to these roles — if you’re the right person you’ll be happy to do whatever’s needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

Based at Millom you’ll be part of the Despatch and Production Team, picking and packing books to fulfil customer orders.  Orders can vary greatly from a single book requested by a parent to several boxes / pallet loads sent daily to our school and retail customers.  But the promise is the same – all orders placed before 5pm will be despatched same day.  At times, this area can be extremely busy and you’ll need an eye for detail to make sure that all orders are picked quickly and accurately.

You’ll also work within the Production area, assisting with a variety of tasks including multi-packing, packaging practice papers and mail-shot collation.  It’s absolutely essential that you’re enthusiastic and willing to do whatever’s needed.

What skills you'll need:

You’ll be bright and positive with a keen eye for detail.  Highly self-motivated with the ability and drive to make sure your work is completed to the highest standard, you’ll also be:

  • Numerate and literate
  • Willing, flexible and happy to do whatever’s needed
  • A hard worker with great teamwork skills
  • Physically fit
  • Comfortable using a PC
